John transformed a 1982 outdated condo into a lovely vacation home. This was a ceiling to floor, and everything between remodel, except for the kitchen which was updated prior to our purchase. This project included nice, smooth ceilings, installation of overhead lighting and ceiling fans, painting, installation of new flooring of waterproof vinyl planks , carpet and tile, bathrooms with new cabinets with quartz counters, tile showers with frameless glass doors, soaking tub in master and change of doorway into the kitchen . We were extremely pleased with the workmanship of John and his crew throughout the project. John truly left his signature on this project with a stunning, one-of-a-a-kind tabby stucco oyster shell fireplace surround with mosiac tile hearth. Awesome! We trusted John’s construction/remodeling ability, decision making skills, and leadership since we live 6 hours away and knew we would only be able to check on the remodel a couple of times. When we had questions during the process, John responded in a timely manner. We presented John with a crunched window of time to complete this project, since construction in our complex is not allowed after Memorial Day through Labor Day. John and his crew miraculously were able to complete the project within the limited time frame. John first worked for me three years ago on a large renovation for our home here but we live in Canada. Doing a long distance renovation takes a lot of trust and he was perfect. Regular communication, finishing on time, excellent workmanship, and his price he quoted never changed. Loved working with him. Sadly Hurricane Mathew came along and destroyed 40 percent of our beautiful home. The day after the hurricane I called him and he had evacuated as you were told to but told me as soon as he could get on island he would check the house. Immediately he took charge and had trees taken off house , sent us pictures, met with the insurance people and us as soon as we could get on island and dealt with it all. Very complicated dealing with permits after hurricane. Happily six months later we are back in our home . It is well done, beautiful and he made an awful experience so much easier. Whole house rebuilt from chimneys to bathrooms and floors, new lighting and ceilings. I had only two trips down and he had every trade organized and always returned my calls and texts that day. This included an interruption due to Hurricane Matthew. John and his group provided a major upgrade of all three bathrooms on time and totally on our agreed upon budget. John made many recommendations on material and layout and was able to communicate clearly to me, while I was at home in Carmel IN. The end product was amazing, and John clearly understands the needs of part time residents and meet every expectation. If you are looking for a renovation in Hilton Head, you will not find a better or more willing partner than John Watts and company.
