Dyjeczynski **Q: Take Out the Fire Place and Chimney?** *(in Design Dilemma)* We are in the process of buying this home and have a lot of great ideas with fixing it up. However, my wife and I can't agree on the fireplace. It's enormous! We live I Florida so it's very unnecessary as well. This thing sits in the middle of the house and takes up a fair amount of space in the living room. She wants it removed, I want to slim it down and paint it. Of all the people I've asked its about 50/50. I'd do most of the labor taking it down so it shouldn't cost more than a butt load of time and about $500-$1,000 in roof, ceiling and floor fixing. We have one 4 year old son and another baby on the way. Anyone who's had kids knows these things are basically covered or protected till the kid gets out of the falling phase. What do you all think? Keep it and slim it down, or remove the beast? A: Unfortunately, I don't travel to NY but good luck with your project! **Q: HOW MUCH WOULD A PROJECT LIKE THIS COST?** *(in Photo Questions)* A: Dormer was already bumped out this cost included wall/ roof framing, drywall, windows, roof, exterior trim/panels ( Azek PVC), gutters & electric only (see before picture). I knocked down two walls and had to move wires and heating pipes. Created a breakfast bar and now need to wrap electrical wires in a column. Am having a hard time locating a product to conceal wires.
