I also found the idea of starting with what I already have and focusing on filling it out and completing my home decor, rather than starting from scratch, even more appealing. I was not disappointed. After a really pleasant and productive discussion, we sorted a few ideas out - and then I decided to proceed with a more extensive project, through Perianth, including some minor construction work. Perianth did an excellent job of identifying contractors and service providers, working with people I wanted to work with, and coordinating and monitoring it all. We were on (perhaps under) budget, my home looks like \*my\* home (not someone else’s style), but so much better than I could ever have done myself. The apartment keeps evolving and getting richer and more layered, while still keeping to the contemporary original style that you've maintained. **★★★★★ — tom2000nyc, Sept. 2018** > I have used Hilary Unger's "Buy My Eye" consultancy service in 2008 (converting a closet to a study and shelves in the kitchen and bedroom) and 2018 (shading design in bedroom, living room, and kitchen as well as the floor design for the kitchen based on the new shading). She is very efficient in a limited time. In both occasions, she produced great designs that are based on my initial ideas but making it work functionally. She is also capable of creating a consensus design between a couple, who may not have agreed on the design prior to her engagement. Her fees more than doubled in 10 years (At 7% increase per year, fees will double in 10 years). Given her excellent work, I can understand this increase beyond the inflation rate. Perhaps, I got an amazing deal in 2008. I will recommend her for a one-bedroom apartment or other smaller apartments. If her fees remain with the inflation rate from now on, I think her consultancy service fee is reasonable.
