## Community Q&A

**Q: What to do with long hallway** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We are doing a total renovation. I am at a loss as to what to do with this really long hallway. Any paintings we hang you don't really see unless you are standing in front of them. We want to add wainscotting or beadboard to some of the rooms. Would such a treatment make this better or worse?  We want to inject a bit of coastal vibe in our home as well. We will be changing out our floor to a mid tone maple and walls we like something like BM Linen White but haven't made a final pick.

A: When you change the floor you might look at running the flooring sideways. That would make the hall look wider.
