He had great ideas and was very knowledgeable about what structure changes were possible and how to design everything. We sat and I showed him pictures of things I liked and didn’t like. He made mental notes and remembered every detail. Amazing! He also did additional projects in our house during our kitchen remodle including refinishing the entire downstairs original wood floors, refinishing our 2 original claw foot tubs, and restoration and rebuilding of window frames and stained glass replacement of our decorative attic windows. On another project he replaced the flooring and restored our entire wrap around porch and hung 2 large porch swings. It looks so beautiful. We have recently hired him for another phase of restoration to our home where he will be restoring the orginal gutters and providing his expertise on water drainage around our home. He is not only a great contractor who can manage multiple projects, but has a very creative eye and offers great design suggestions, ideas and alternatives. Granite or quartz? Butcher block was my first choice, but not an option. Applliances are going to be stainless. Cabinet pulls & faucet will be black. She provided drawings, measurements, selections, and worked with the GC on it. We didn’t want a door on the master shower, so all of her work/designs/measurements included that. Well, work is almost completed and we noticed that water gets all over the place where the opening is. It’s basically not useable. We’ve paid all of her design invoices. Should she pay $2200 for the door that is needed to fix her design flaw? This is the cheapest route. She is saying she isn’t responsible for any outcomes of her design. She has an interior design degree from a major university. A: I do believe the designer has some fault, he/she should have let you know that water would get out. A: On melamine cabinet, we have found great success with wallpaper (either solid color or patterned).
