> We interviewed many remodeling contractors, they asked no questions just gave us a price. Warren listened, asked a lot of questions and gave a multitude of suggestions. Even though we were remodeling 3 rooms plus surrounding areas-flooring, moulding and paint; we never felt overwhelmed with decisions. All choices were displayed in easy to comprehend selections. Everyone we dealt with connected with Kitchen&bath Restylers was knowledgeable, polite and detail oriented. We didn’t go over budget and because of Warren and crew’s expertise there were no surprises. We have and will continue to highly recommend Kitchen and Bath Restylers.

**★★★★★ — Jane Henderson, May 2019**

> Kitchen & Bath Restylers recently completed another successful remodel for us - this time a guest bathroom. We are delighted with the result and my friends are amazed at the transformation. These folks have great vision and extensive knowledge of all the necessary elements involved in a remodel. They have done a kitchen, a laundry/ utility room, a dining room built-in buffet/china cabinet, and bathroom for us. They make sure you are happy!

**★★★★★ — HU-198787, May 2016**

> We found Warren and his staff to be very professional in all aspects of our remodel project. Although we had been wishing for something better for our kitchen for a number of years, we didn't know where or how to start. Warren is a master at walking people like us through the process step by step, from design choices to styling, material and color choices. His entire staff aims for perfection and take extreme pride in their workmanship. Just ''good enough'' is not acceptable to them. Everything must be done to perfection. The project was completed in a timely manner and was right on budget. We recommend Kitchen & Bath ReStylers without reservation!

**Comment from Kitchen & Bath ReStylers:**

> Thank You for your kind words. We enjoyed working with you and the project really did come out exactly the way we envisioned it, beautiful!

**★★★★★ — Cheryl Cannon, Feb. 2016**

> Warren Smith listened carefully to what I wanted/needed rather than try to sell me on what is trendy or what he likes. I appreciated his thoughts/ideas on our project.

**Comment from Kitchen & Bath ReStylers:**

> Thank You, I appreciate your taking the time to provide a review.

> We are very pleased with the work. They did an amazing job. Hired them again to redo the bathrooms. Very professional and respected our home. Great friendly crew that was on time and kept us updated. Came in on budget. Cleaned up as worked so that at the end of the day we didn't have to do any cleanup. Put walk way down to protect wooden floors. We would hire them again and recommend them to anyone thinking of redoing their kitchen. Yesterday we had our pest control guy come in and he commented he had never seen such a beautiful kitchen. We hear that a lot.
> Thanks to Kitchen & Bath ReStylers!

**Comment from Kitchen & Bath ReStylers:**

> Thank You so much, It was a pleasure working with you.

**★★★★★ — User, June 2015**

> Kitchen Restylers did a partial remodel of our kitchen about 5 years ago and did an excellent job. When we wanted to finish the kitchen we never thought of hiring anyone else. Their attention to details, excellent craftsmen, and finishing the job to catch anything missed, etc. were reasons we wanted them to do the work. We knew we would get a perfect result because they care about the details and doing the job right. Their craftsmen have always been helpful, pleasant and easy to work with.

**Comment from Kitchen & Bath ReStylers:**

> Barb: Thanks so much, it was a pleasure working with you. The improvement was remarkable.

**★★★★★ — Carmen Stafford, June 2015**

> My 1978 kitchen was dark and dreary, airless, and no more than one person could be in there at a time--it was just that small. I had a general idea of what I wanted but lacked the imagination to really see what a remodel would look like. Warren and his crew did an exhaustive amount of pre-design work, taking pictures from every angle, and measurements. I told him I had an antique doughboy table that needed to be incorporated, not easy. The design passed back and forth between us a few times, and his design team quickly made changes and returned them for approval. The bottom line is, it's hard to believe the room I'm in now ever was like the old one. It's open, airy and spacious. And at Christmas and Thanksgiving time there's all kinds of family in the kitchen with me, helping, and it's wonderful. Also, something I really enjoy is how the grandkids can come in afterschool and spread their books out on the kitchen surfaces and do their homework and have snacks. It was never this easy before. In the end, the results far exceeded my expectations. Couldn't be happier. Also must mention that the work crews who came in from plumbers, electricians, carpenters, tile layers and painters---all were professional, polite and considerate of us. A great crew. A special shout out to Jared and Charlie!! Thanks everyone!

**Comment from Kitchen & Bath ReStylers:**

> Carmen: Thanks for your kind words, we had a lot of fun with your project. My favorite parts were finding a way to integrate your family heirloom furniture piece, the little dog door installation, and the homework table for the grand kids.

**★★★★★ — Jim Fredrickson, June 2015**

> Warren and Kitchen Restylers were excellent. The design worked for us flawlessly and we would hardly change anything. Extremely high quality workmanship. Any issues that came up during construction were dealt with to our complete satisfaction. We are very happy with the outcome. Have a look for yourself on houzz.

> We selected Kitchen & Bath ReStylers for our kitchen/living room remodel because of the excellent job they did on our bath room remodels. They patiently worked with us for many hours to come up with an open area redesign for our kitchen, dining room, and living room area. The work began in the month of December so we were apprehensive about not having a kitchen available for Christmas but they promised us we would. Well it was close but they fulfilled their promise on time and within budget. They had a great team of skilled workers that paid attention to details which was important to us. They were also excellent at follow-up when things went wrong after completion. For Photos see

 - Description: We completely redesigned the kitchen to include an island with cooktop and room for seating, a cabinet for the oven and microwave, lots of drawers for convenient storage and an amazing amount of counter area for food prep and workspace. There is also a small appliance storage garage and a countertop wall cabinet and a base cabinet with rollouts below that serves as a “pantry”. We used a wood look porcelain tile for the flooring which extends into the laundry room and powder bath. The wall betwee…

 - Description: The client chose a natural wood look in textured laminate flat panel door style for the majority of the cabinets. This finish is durable and very easy care. We accented with dark charcoal painted finish cabinets on the upper cabinets on the back wall of the kitchen. All the major workspaces are very convenient to each other and create an efficient and attractive work space. To expand the laundry, we moved a wall to accommodate the newly arranged space and created a storage alcove for bulk househ…
- [Kitchen Gets New Light](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/kitchen-gets-new-light-pj-vj~6314790)
 - Location: Richland, WA
 - Photos: 5
 - Description: The transformation is quite dramatic. As always when we remove walls, all of the spaces visually expanded. The former dining room now serves as a small family room, adjacent to the kitchen. The nook space took over dining room duties. The new, continuous flooring did it’s job by erasing boundary lines and unifying the spaces, creating the feel of one large space. The updated countertops, backsplash, cabinet pulls, & island modernized the kitchen. Commercial-look charcoal pendants add an interest…
- [Large Bath Gets Larger](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/large-bath-gets-larger-pj-vj~6313620)
 - Location: Kennewick, WA
 - Photos: 5
 - Description: All agreed the glass block window was a great feature that should stay. In order to open things up, we needed to get rid of the tall walls and compartmentalized feel of the space. Removing the un-used tub allowed us to widen the shower. The area below the window became a dressing bench, and the walled-in toilet compartment became a larger, semi-private toilet area with additional storage. New cabinetry was matched to the existing knotty alder custom vanities, with new quartz countertops, sinks,…
- [Luxury Bath Reboot](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/luxury-bath-reboot-pj-vj~6313690)
 - Location: Kennewick, WA

 - Description: Features include: A heated, porcelain tile floor, a Kohler "Veil" toilet , individual shower spaces with rain heads and adjustable hand showers, improved vanity storage, adult-height, quartz countertops, a soaking tub, improved storage capacity, improved natural lighting, instant hot water through a hot-water circulation system and upgraded water-heater. Although the room size did not change, the perception of size and the utilization of the space changed dramatically.
- [Goodbye, Honey Oak!](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/goodbye-honey-oak-pj-vj~6313510)
 - Location: Richland, WA
 - Photos: 4
 - Description: To start, we wanted to unify the work surfaces into one cohesive work space. Placing the eating area in the bumped-out bay with a banquet table arrangement gave us room for a nice island. Placing the induction cooktop on the island with a pop-up style downdraft left plenty of 2-person, work space around the large, single bowl, two-person, 45" Kohler "Prolific" work station sink on the main L-shape. Adding a large pantry next to the refrigerator, meant ample storage space so we could use the spac…
- [Contemporary Kitchen Blow-Out](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/contemporary-kitchen-blow-out-pj-vj~6313495)
 - Location: Richland, WA
 - Photos: 6
 - Description: Not much needs to be said about the improvement, other than "Wow!" It looks, feels, and entertains like a completely different home. The cabinets are european-style "full access" cabinets with textured laminate fronts. Not only will these cabinets be a dream to maintain, but they will not change color from the flood of natural light, and the finish will not degrade from being handled, and wiped down. Beautiful and bullet-proof is a great combination. The stunning wood floor, completes the transf…

 - Location: Benton City, WA
 - Photos: 3
 - Description: Opening a portion of the wall between the kitchen and dining room connected the spaces and made the nook table unneeded. Visibility clear into the distant living room makes the home feel much more open and connected. The expanded island will handle the kitchen & family room casual dining needs. We added 6" of extra depth along the refrigerator wall so we could flush-up the refrigerator, give the MW a built-in look, and use appliance garages to conceal countertop clutter without encroaching on th…

 - Location: Richland, WA
 - Photos: 8
 - Description: A kitchen and dining room in a 1940's government-built "A" house are combined to create an eclectic, two-room, kitchen / pantry space. As a designer, sometimes we are called upon to create the vision, and other times we facilitate and implement the vision of the client. This is a great example of the latter. Elements include: a rustic maple floor, a glazed, brush-stroke finish on the cabinetry, grooved and battened bi-fold doors on the reach-in pantry, open shelves for her antique knick knacks,…

 - Location: Kennewick, WA
 - Photos: 4
 - Description: A mouth-watering recipe for updating a 70's-80" vintage split-level kitchen: Remove unnecessary walls to open the space. Remove soffits and extend cabinets to the ceiling to capture storage space. Start with white cabinets to add visual size to the space. Add convenience features such as full access corners and lots of big drawers. Combine recessed overhead and under-cabinet lighting and position perfectly. Blend in bullet-proof & care-free quartz countertops and porcelain tile. Garnish with a s…

- [A Split-Level Great Room](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/a-split-level-great-room-pj-vj~1133103)
 - Location: Not specified
 - Photos: 7
 - Description: An 80's vintage, large split level gets a great room conversion. The home was originally configured as most split levels of the era, with the living and dining rooms in an L-shape around an enclosed kitchen. The kitchen, having been remodeled previously, had walls removed, but was still enclosed and not functioning as they would have liked. Opening it up and changing the island shape did the trick.

 - Location: Richland, WA
 - Photos: 8
 - Description: Combining a strong sense of minimalism along with maximum convenience can be a challenging design project. That was our mandate for this project. The pantry, freezer, and a large wine storage unit were required in addition to the traditional appliance package. Everything needed to be easy-access, easy-clean, high-quality, and minimalist in design. A major challenge was how to reconcile the demands of the building inspector with the wishes of the client. In addition, the client had very specific…
- [Asian Influenced Transitional Bath](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/asian-influenced-transitional-bath-pj-vj~519791)
 - Location: Richland, WA
 - Photos: 5
 - Description: Having traveled in Asia, my client for this project wanted to bring in a hint of Asian influence to remind them of their travels. This project was a major remodel that involved completely re-designing the master suite, including closets, windows, ceilings, traffic patterns, doorways, as well as the bath. Their love for slate was our starting point. The cabinetry, the pulls, the grass-cloth-like tile in the shower, the black accent on the mirror & lights were the elements we used to bring in the…

 - Location: Richland, WA

 - Description: Cherry cabinetry with an umber stain are the center-piece of this elegant contemporary kitchen. The curved floating soffits serve to anchor the cabinetry in a space with a soaring ceiling and walls of windows. A kitchen built for entertaining needs to take care of business in an elegant way. The two-sided, two-color, glass pass-thru to the dining room and the concealed small appliance area help to find that balance.

 - Description: A contemporary kitchen featuring a cloud-shaped island countertop in a bright orange accented by a red glass tile backsplash. Stepped cabinetry and industrial style pendants draw the eye upward to capitalize on the vaulted ceiling. When I walked into this client's home, I knew it would be a fun project. A fearless decorator, with well-developed tastes is a joy to work with. You can clearly see her sense of style in the form and color of the accessories that populate the rest of the space. This s…

## Community Q&A

**Q: Did you paint these cabniet?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Those are maple cabinets stained with a "Toffee" stain with an "espresso" glaze. It is a now-discontinued finish from Columbia Cabinets in Abbotsford BC. Here is a link to their website. https://www.columbiacabinets.com/

Good Luck

Warren

**Q: Where was the bath tub's curvilinier handrail manufactured?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: The custom grab bar was modeled by heating PVC electrical conduit in an electrician's conduit bending heater box. Once it was soft, we formed it and held it in place till it cooled and hardened. Touch-ups to the shape were done with a professional heat gun. We then took our model to a metal artisan in downtown Seattle to be replicated in metal. He bent it, prepped it, welded on the plates, and had it plated. It came out great. It took a lot of legwork and was expensive to do. The artisan who built it specialized in metal art pieces in public spaces. I have since lost touch with the artisan. I would look for such an artisan in your area.

**Q: Countertop** *(in Photo Questions)*

what is the granite used?

A: The stone used is 3 CM Mascarello. Thanks for viewing our project.

**Q: Lighting fixture** *(in Photo Questions)*

These light fixtures are beautiful- would you share the manufacturer as I'm having a hard time finding something of a similar size. Thanks!

A: Thanks for your interest, I wish I could oblige. This was a new home and I did not participate in the pendant selection, so I have no record. Additionally, the owner is out of town on an extended missions trip, so I can get the info from them. Sorry!

**Q: Explain Ductless Installation** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Please explain what this entails, Ductless installation available with additional carbon/charcoal filters. I have a concrete block cabin with brick over the block, wouldn't want to cut a hole through the concrete block & brick. Maybe ductless installation would be an option. Please explain ductless installation.

A: Susie: I agree with Sophie. When it come to ductless, very few people clean the filters regularly and very rarely replace them. Can you go up to duct out the hood? Through the attic & out the roof might be a good option.

**Q: Slate tile layout and color questions** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We are considering installing a slate floor in our bathroom(7'x10')and at the living room entrance in front of our French doors (will have hickory flooring if that makes a difference).
I believe we are going with 12"x12" squares and possibly slate from Home Depot or Lowes. They have multi colored, lilac and rustic gold. I'm thinking of purchasing various ones and seeing what the colors will be like so any input will be appreciated. Also, should the tiles be squared or staggered? Not sure if it matters since the spaces we are doing aren't that large.

A: When using low-end slate, plan to buy 20% more than what you need. Being able to sort for color, thickness, and condition is valuable. If you save the cartons, you may be able to return the surplus at the end. PD is right, the big box stores sell the bottom of the barrel. Buying a better grade will save lots of time and yield better results, now and forever.
