## Community Q&A

**Q: Wall color please?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Wall color please?

A: Sherwin Williams 6006 Black Bean, 6013 Bitter Chocolate, or 6020 Marooned might be close colors.

**Q: Looking for the sheikest warm gray paint tone to go with white molding** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi,
I am moving into a flat in Bangkok and I want to paint the walls a very sheik warm gray color. The baseboards are wide and will remain and swiss white color as well as the ceilings. I need a name and brand of a good medium/light color.
Thanks!

A: Sherwin Williams Light French Gray SW0055 is the hottest color right now. It's modern, warm, and neutral. Take it to 50% if you're looking for lighter. Designers are eating it up.

**Q: Blank Wall in Bedroom** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I have a large blank wall in our master bedroom that I am ready to tackle. We just had some great fall family photos done and was thinking of either doing a large canvas centered or four smaller squared photos or... Go in a totally different direction and do a gallery style wall with different sizes (and maybe even different frames) that is anchored by a larger center photo. Any thoughts on what would look best on a wall that size? It's a wall you look at as you walk into the room, which also happens to be off our main family room. I've attached pictures of the rest of the room for perspective. Thanks for your inputs, houzzers!

A: It's eclectic and fun to do a collage. I say hit up Goodwill and antique shops for frames that are different and like the other person said.. Pick ones that go with your bedding and furniture. Spray paint is an easy fix too. Have fun with it! Groupings are more interesting in 3's and 5's I heard from an Architect once.

**Q: Should we paint the brick white?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Floors are going to be hand scraped hardwood, wall has been removed, ceiling is going to be painted white and walls will be taupe.

A: My manager said Latex paint will bond to it no problem. So you wouldn't nec need the Loxon primer and Enamel. Just two coats of white paint. I think Eggshell is the most popular finish, but Semigloss is as well for doors and trim and fireplaces. Inside the fireplace you'd need a High heat paint and Sherwin doesn't sell it.

**Q: Needing help achieveing this exterior paint color.** *(in Design Dilemma)*

This is my Photoshoped version of my new construction's exterior. After failed attempts of choosing swatches we think are close, I'd like to build a list of colors I can research out that are close to my photo attached. We have large sprawling live oaks that surround, so we want to keep the color light as the house will be shaded most of the day. We want a definite white trim and a light, non-yellow base color. Thanks!

A: Look at SW whites chart. It has a "cool whites" list that are off whites without any gold to them.

**Q: Master bedroom color scheme** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I bought this upholstered bed not realizing how much blue was in the fabric (instead of gray). Now I am having trouble with wall colors to make sure the headboard stands out. I am in the very early design stages for the room and want to paint the walls sherwin Williams peppercorn (sample on the wall) but I don't think it works with the headboard. My husbands hates accents walls. The other colors in the room are going to be mustard yellow (like the chair) and white. I was thinking of using trim to make a frame around the headboard area of the wall and paint the inside mustard yellow. Any thoughts?

A: If you do pale yellow walls try Vital Yellow 6392 or Lemon Chiffon 6686.
