From the very beginning they handled everything, from the initial design concepts to the final furniture selections, with professionalism, creativity, and care. > Our project included a covered deck with skylights, a pergola, a beautiful privacy screen, recessed lighting and a dry below system for our lower patio space, a built-in storage closet, turf play area, concrete steppers, multiple stone staircases, new concrete sport court, new fence, new sod, updated irrigation and plants throughout our whole backyard. > We had both a landscape architect and a project manager involved throughout, and their attention to detail and organization made the entire process smooth and stress-free. Every Friday, we received an email update explaining what was accomplished that week and what was planned for the next — something we really appreciated. > They also suggested thoughtful ideas along the way, and were always open and receptive to our feedback and changes. It very much felt like a collaborative process. > But what stood out most was their reliability. In an industry where it can be hard to even get a call back, Designs by Sundown was a breath of fresh air. They called when they said they would, showed up on time, and finished the project when they said they would. That alone is a massive win — and when you pair that with their craftsmanship and design sensibility, you have something really special. > We can’t recommend them highly enough! **★ — HU-513617, April 2018** > I hired Designs by Sundown last spring to perform monthly maintenance at my (very small) property, with the expectation that the crew will consistently show up monthly, as agreed, and my yard (as small as it is) will look presentable all season. That did not happen. I also used them a year prior with similar results, of not showing up on schedule and not showing up promptly when contacted. I decided to give them another chance being, frankly, too busy to try to find another yard maintenance provider, and the situation did not improve! I was making multiple phone calls, chased our maintenance manager all season long, until I finally gave up... I was still being billed for no-shows and heard from them in the middle of November to do my "fall cleanup"! At that point, it did not make a difference to the condition of my yard one way or another... The lawn crew has even "mistakenly" treated my neighbor's yard instead of mine once and never came back to retreat ours. Thankfully, our neighbor's yard did not sustain visible damage from this additional treatment, which could have been the case, and could have been our responsibility to remedy. My yard had looked absolutely atrocious all summer long and into the fall with overgrown weeds, and unkempt beds -- it looked like no one lived at the house. The two maintenance visits that the crew did make did nothing to provide the neat and groomed look that I was looking for for my yard, because of the failure to do it regularly. I could not even begin to describe how displeased and apalled I am at the company's level of service and communication. I am still being charged an unreasonable amount of money for the visits that did occur, that I am being forced to pay, fundamentally, for NO service and a lot of stress and inconvenience! I would not EVER recommend them to anyone for any type and scope of service! Not sure, how they are still in business... What is also nice about Sundown is they are a one stop shop.... they do it all and it all falls under their umbrella!! We did a pool, hot tub, deck, fence, fire pit, outdoor kitchen, garden, vegi garden, pergolas and lots of gorgeous landscaping. Everything turned out amazing and they made everything the way we wanted and planed! Everyone was so thoughtful through out the whole process and communicated/ scheduled to meet our standards and schedules!! We have dogs and they built temporary fences for them, covered our windows during the rough parts, just all the little things that make the company shine. The people working on site were wonderful and friendly!! It was the best experience we had and shocked how great it went with all the work we had done!! I would recommended this hard working team for any project you are thinking about. You are in great hands with Designs by Sundown!! They are then best!! We actually researched others prior and made the right choice.
