All estimates are coming in way over budget! Not sure how to proceed. We have a FEMA grant and thought $100K would be plenty for budget. All other contractors are giving us reasonable prices but the masons are coming in around 60 - 70K! Any suggestions? A: Use AMVIC insulated Concrete forms for a fast foundation and less cost, no need for mason or block. Clad the ICF with any cladding you want, wood, concrete board, stucco, stone etc Bill@pacificicf.com **Q: Residential Construction with ICF** *(in Design Dilemma)* I am contemplating the option of building the entire envelope of our two storied dream home in Sun Prairie, WI using ICF. The internals will be constructed of “regular” materials, e.g., engineered floor trusses, 2X4 lumber partition walls, Laminated beams, Pella windows, engineered roof trusses, metal roofing, etc. Seeking your advice and experiences. If anyone in Madison, WI and surrounding areas have done similar construction with ICF, I am eager to gather some firsthand information.
