> The door is beautiful and the door installation was great. Unfortunately we had not settled on a handle at the time of the install. John recommended one we could order on Amazon and we did that, taking delivery of the handle 3 days after the door was installed. Although John promised that he would return to install the handle, all communications with You're Unique have gone without a reply. We submitted new contact requests via their website and called Traci using the phone number we found on houzz. It has been months and there has been no response.

> I had barn doors completed for a basement project. We came up with a custom design. We had the doors done in walnut, and the finish on the doors are spectacular. The craftsmanship of the doors are unbelievable. John came out to install the doors and did a great job. I was very happy with the process. It does take some time to get the doors, since they are custom made, but it was well worth the wait! I wish I could do more of them in the house, they are so beautiful. I would definitely recommend You're Unique to every one that is looking to do custom barn doors.

> After spending about a week with my new Freeman coffee table, I can say that I am extremely happy with the finished product and overly impressed with John’s craftsmanship. The design, build, and finish of the table is exceptional and I could not be more satisfied. In fact, I’d argue that this coffee table is as well built and finished as others four times the price.

> I was initially drawn to You’re Unique by the prospect of purchasing a locally built coffee table at an affordable price. I was able to select the dimensions, wood, stain, hardware, and add two additional drawers to the back side. The entire process took about 6 weeks from placing my order to receiving the finished product. You’re Unique far exceeded my expectations and ultimately delivered a coffee table that I now expect to keep with me for the rest of my life.

> Wanted a barn door for a specific space in our new house. Came across You're Unique and we couldn't be happier with the finished result. Everything from the size, to the stain, to the custom selections were exactly as described and exactly how we imagined it would look. Give them a try, you will not be disappointed!

> I couldn't be happier with the products and service I have received from Traci and her team at You're Unique. She has gone above and beyond to make sure our pieces were custom to fit our needs. Between the high level of service, great prices and exceptional craftsmanship she has earned a lifelong customer in me.

> I came across them via Etsy - I sent them a picture of a coffee table that I liked and even though they had not made it before, they made a wonderful piece. The customer service was fantastic as well. Great experience and not only would I use them again, I would recommend them highly to anyone. I seldom write reviews (good or bad) but they deserve one. Fabulous team!

> We had the pleasure of working with You're Unique to have custom barn doors made for our clients. Traci and John were extremely helpful in answering our questions prior to ordering and provided exceptional customer service throughout the process. They worked with us to get a beautiful set of custom doors that our clients absolutely love! We would recommend You're Unique for the quality of product and great service. We will use You're Unique on our future custom home projects.

> Thank you Jay and happy new year! Your review means a lot to us! Your work is fabulous and it was a honor to work with you, Patrick and Monique on this project and we look forward to working with you again soon!

**★★★★★ — Hildee Isaacs, Nov. 2015**

> I ordered a custom barn door from a Georgia based couple. They were easy to work with, fairly priced, honest and even installed for me. I've attached a few photos of my finished door.

> Do not recommend. We contracted You're Unique for a barn door. They had to make three trips and even then door they left is of poor quality and too large for the opening. Worse, Traci, the owner has tried every way possible to start a smear campaign rather than refund what we have paid thus far. Please contact me for examples of their poor workmanship and follow up support. Again, I would not recommend these folks for any work whatsoever.

**Comment from You're Unique, LLC:**

> We offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee; if you're not happy with our product, simply return it for a full refund. Ayaz, we’re very sorry that you’re unhappy with our product and services. You and your wife have left us many negative reviews across several sites, complaining about the custom barn door that you ordered but you’ve refused to return it for a refund, even when we offered to drive five hours round trip to Spartanburg to pick it up to save you the expense of returning it. You even filed a chargeback with your credit card company in an effort get a refund and keep the door without having to return it. Please understand it is not our fault that your credit card company denied your claim; we responded to your claim honestly when they asked if the product had been returned and it had not been. Actually, we’re very confused as to why you would want to keep this door that is of such poor quality and too large for the opening to begin with. Regardless, we did credit your account for the installation fee since you where unhappy with our installation. However since your home was not ready for the install the first trip that we made out, we will not be able to credit the already deeply discounted delivery fee. We strive to offer the best products and installation services that we can so it helps to know when we fall short of that. It inspires us to work so much harder for our clients! Please contact us as soon as possible regarding the balance due for the door if you do not plan on returning it. Thank you! Traci & John

> Traci was great to work with! Very patient. I had lots of ideas that had to be narrowed down to one. She was very helpful in helping me to decide. I purchased a custom bookcase, Headboard and Farm Table. All came out just as I envisioned and even greater. They did a great job with craftsmanship I actually hate that I moved to Texas as I'm sure I'll want more items moving forward. Hopefully I will move back moving forward and Traci will be on my top ten call list to help me design and bring to life the new piece I envision for my next home. Very happy with my decision to purchase from here!

> We were absolutely blown away by our purchases with You're Unique Furniture. The entire process from customizing our order to the delivery was excellent. Great correspondence, price, and products.
> We couldn't be happier with our dog feeding station, TV console, and dining table. The attention to detail in everything is incredible and well done. Thank you!

## Community Q&A

**Q: barn door pros cons** *(in Building a Home)*

A sliding barn door is all the rage now-a-days. I was thinking about getting one for either a coat closet or as a kitchen pantry door. Can anyone tell me pros/cons or what they like or hate about these doors? We have young kids, dogs, and cats. Are these bad for kids that might slide it open easily or try to wiggle their arms between the wall and the door? Do the doors stay put when you slide it open or closed? Please enlighten me on how these work for real people!

A: We build and install these for a living and I can tell you for certain, they are not going out of style anytime soon in Atlanta. If you don't like doors opening into a space, then they work well for that and can make a room appear larger and more open. They are perfect for closing off or separating spaces and look great! I've never known any child injured by a barn door and if they are installed correctly, they stay in the position that you leave them. Hardware options these days are limitless from rustic, to modern and barely noticable. You can hang wall art behind them and it's fine as long as the door will clear it. There is no need to move light switches at all. Only the larger doors are heavy but most standard doors will glide like butter if properly installed.

They are not sound proof and are somewhat expensive. Here are some of our doors that do not resemble the farm house style at all.

**Q: I messed up in my dining room** *(in Home Decorating)*

I painted my dining room white and initially I thought it was great but it made my room so boring! It needs something! I am looking at rugs and was thinking something orange maybe. I also considered wall paper and maybe metallic ceiling. Open to suggestions.

A: I think replacing the sideboard with something mid century modern or a warmer toned wood look great but I love eclectic.

**Q: wall sconce or table lamp for bedroom side** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I just got my bed which I absolutely love and now I’m struggling with picking our light source. Initially I was going to just add a couple of gold wall sconces but the headboard is pretty high and now I’m thinking a lot about proportions and how it would come into play when choosing side tables (high or low) and if it even matters. I live in a rental so I’m not going to be doing any renovations in terms of moving light sources and whatnot.

Should I get table lamps for the night tables and cover the holes with small mirrors/art work? Or should I do wall sconces. Do the sconces hang low or do I keep it small....?

H e l p

A: Curious as to what you decided. My beside tables are 36" wide so I have room for lamps. I'm actually thinking of doing both sconces and lamps.

**Q: Help with Bedroom Makeover Please** *(in Home Decorating)*

Ok so I'm redecorating my bedroom and here is how it looks atm. I took the picture at night b/c this is when I really hate how the wall color looks--so dank and dark in the dim, incandescent light. During the day with the sun coming in it looks beautiful though. It's an earthy gray/taupe - Benjamin Moore's Thunder.
So far these are the things I have in mind:
1\) Remove the window blinds and add curtains. I'm thinking white linen to lighten things up.
2\) Remove black duvet and shams and replace with something else... maybe linen in natural color or light gray? Not sure.
3\) Figure out what to do with the other side of the bed. Add a side table or stool and place plug-in wall sconces on both sides, or should I put a floor lamp or something? I'm really not sure! I hate that corner. It's a very negative space especially b/c the very high ceiling is at its highest point on that wall where the headboard is.
4\) Add an area rug (not sure what kind) under the bed. An 8x10 will fit perfect and stop a few inches short of night stands and dresser.
5\) Paint the walls a new color, but I have no idea what color or even whether I want to go darker or lighter. P.S. Walls are textured (knockdown). Floors are shiny and smooth, light beige travertine.
6\) I want a new bed but can't decide on one to match the industrial nightstand--which i really regret buying! (west elm's logan industrial nightstand). I might just put it in another room and find a new one. I think a simple/modern/skandi canopy bed would look cool and would help fix the awkwardness of my very tall ceilings, or just a nice bed that makes a statement which is what the room is lacking, or to just get a simple bed frame with no headboard, with bedding draped to the floor.
Things you can't see in the pic:
-Very high ceilings that slope up toward the headboard.
-4 hanging glass jar pendant lights with edison bulbs and a ceiling fan.
-Those beige curtains on the right of the pic are "doors" for my closet which takes up the entire wall.. And above those curtains is a loft where I plan to put my computer. But it will require a rolling library ladder in front of the curtains to get up and down.
If anyone can help me decide what to do to give this bedroom a much-needed make-over I'm all ears! And thanks so much in advance.

A: I might be late to the party but I would cover the window with barn doors. :)

**Q: SW trim color for accessible beige** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I am renovating an older home and having trouble with interior trim and ceiling color. All walls will be accessible beige. Kitchen cabinet color is close to SW alabaster or Dover white, but bathroom cabinets are more like extra white. Trying to find a SW trim color that flows throughout. Would Pure White be a good choice?
Ceilings are 8ft and I want them to feel higher. I am considering ceiling bright white or using same as trim color.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

A: In regards to the post above, yellow cool family? I thought yellow was warm?

**Q: Love the square table.** *(in Photo Questions)*

I looked at the store gallery and saw only a parquet table. The one here looks different and I like it better. What is the price for a 48inch square table just like this one?

A: Hi there! Thank you so much for your interest in our tables! We can build this table for $696 in an all over stain and you can add a painted base as in the picture for an additional $75. This design is similar in build as our Chavers X trestle table but it is square and the stringer or stretcher is straight and runs between the two trestles. If you want to order, you can send us an email at info@youreunique.net and I will send you a custom quote and dig up additional pics if needed.
Hope this helps and we look forward building your beautiful table!
Thank you!
Traci, John and the "Unique" team!
