> We have worked with Courtney now for almost a year on our complete home renovation. It all began with lights. Our 1895 New England colonial needed a major overhaul and the decisions were beginning to overwhelm me. She came over to the house to see the demo progress and chat through what we were thinking and her comments and demeanor immediately excited me. I knew this was going to be a good match. Her help didn’t stop at lighting. She has had a hand in many aspects of our process and I know I couldn’t have done it without her. I would be in serious therapy! Her assistance has saved us money because I know having gone through it that I would have made so many mistakes with size or finish etc. she also saved us time. We picked out paint colors for the whole house in less than an hour! Courtney is talented, keeps in mind your budget, seeks to understand you vision and push you just outside your comfort zone. She is also very aware of the fact that you will live in the space and wants to honor your decisions as well. We continue to use her guidance as we shift our focus to decor. And I know that as we complete our vision through the end of the year, I will continue to lean on her expertise.

> I could never have imagined the beautiful living room Courtney so effortlessly delivered us with when we first started working with her on the (tricky) layout in our new home. After presenting us with numerous layouts, color palettes, furniture options and creative solutions for our “new home-buyer budget”, our living room came together in a way that makes us feel like our house is now our home. We can relax, entertain, goof around with the kids and cozy up in this space that feels like it’s been ours forever. Courtney takes the time to get to know you, your likes, your dislikes, your style and your family’s needs. She is the epitome of intuitive talent, timeless elegance, and customer service all rolled into one professional who can be trusted with every decision that goes into a project. We cannot say enough about how wonderful she is to work with (and we look forward to working together again!).

> Courtney managed and designed new construction of an in-law apartment for us. We had a large space but a strict budget. She provided complete plans and drawings of 3 potential designs based on our style and then she was able to quickly modify the plan we selected due to budgetary restrictions. She made it so easy and the final product far exceeded our expectations. Courtney was able to design and deliver on all aspects including:
> -budget
> -timeline
> \- storage space for new apt. + storage space for us since we lost our primary storage to the apt.
> -room layout and design for kitchen, bath, bedroom, office and family room
> -coordination of colors, flooring, fixtures, lighting, furnishings and accessories
> We would absolutely work with Courtney again and hope she will be available to do our kitchen next!

> Courtney was an absolute pleasure to worth with. She is so creative and thoughtful in her designs. She immediately understood what my style was and what I wanted--I wasn't even able to explain what I wanted! Her design included some new items, but she also incorporated pieces that I wanted to keep. She is so creative and talented using accessories and color. We loved every idea she presented, and kept everything within our budget. We appreciated that she always offered us choices, but also made it easy for us as we never felt overwhelmed. I cannot wait to work with Courtney on our next project.

> I absolutely loved working with Courtney. Not only her style, but her easy-going personality made everything effortless. She designed the main room in our home with the most beautiful touches, yet the room is still fully functional for our family with four small kids. Look forward to utilizing Courtney for all our future home projects. Highly recommend!

**★★★★★ — Laura Clark, Sept. 2017**

> Courtney had seen my apartment only 1-2 times prior to designing both my bedroom and tv room. She had an impeccable eye and talent for colors, textures and styles that would go with the furniture, colors and elements that were already in both rooms. I am beyond thrilled with the outcome of both rooms, and can't wait to hire Courtney Ellen Design for my next project. In addition to Courtney exceeding my expectations from an interior design perspective, I truly enjoyed working with her and found her not only very professional and knowledge, but equally personable and friendly - making the overall experience that much more enjoyable and fun.

  - Description: A family of four moved back to Massachusetts and bought a large home in a great neighborhood. The first floor of their new home had a lot of square footage, but the space wasn't utilized properly. The project began around wanting a large, beautiful kitchen. We relocated a powder room to the old pantry, widened a skinny hallway and turned it into mudroom, opened up the wall from dining room to the kitchen, created a floor to ceiling coffee bar, and finally opened up all the doorway headers. Our f…

  - Description: This project was about taking new construction and making it feel like a “home”. We created a home that is true sophistication with just enough color, richness and wow factor in every room. Of all the projects I have worked on so far, this one best represents me as a designer. I love every corner and every space in this home, but also love how they all rooms work off one another seamlessly.

  - Description: This older home had great bones, but it just needed some updating. We opened up the wall between the old dining room and kitchen to allow for a big island and we reconfigured the kitchen so the parents can now see the kids playing in the back yard through a new triple window. We also did a four panel door that lets the natural light just pour in and also makes the outdoor and indoor spaces feel like one!

  - Description: The old bathroom needed a major overhaul and it got all that, and more! The client asked for a blue gray vanity and I was happy to build the design around that. We picked a geometric marble tile for the focal wall in the shower paired with light blue penny tiles on the shower floor. Both of these tiles balanced off the room and went perfectly with the blue gray vanity. The black mirrors and black hardware added a little contrast in the space. My favorite item as simple as it may be, is the round…

  - Description: This family bought a new home and was so excited to make it their own. The wife told me she loves Serena and Lily and navy blue which was music to my ears! We started in the family room, where we chose a rich navy blue wall color and then mixed in neutrals and pops of blush pink, sea-foam green and touches of brass. The gorgeous leather ottoman and navy and white lamp were two of my favorite pieces in this space.

  - Description: The overall style was transitional meets post and beam with mid century and antique pieces mixed in for some real character! From the reclaimed bricks in the mudroom, to the old newel post on the stairs, to the antique farmhouse sink and the vintage counters stools, to the timeless wallpaper, down to the brass heat grates, all these selections gave this home such personality!

  - Description: My clients were looking to create a master bedroom that felt like a cozy retreat. They both loved blues, neutrals and wood tones. The room design started around the print fabrics on the custom pillows and curtains. From there, we picked the dark blue wall color for some drama! We added in warm wood tones, nickel finishes, a little bit of plush pink and even a gorgeous grasscloth console table to make this room sing!

  - Description: This family bought a new home, and I was lucky enough to help them update their kitchen, powder room and entry way to better fit their style. The footprint of the kitchen was good, but it had a dated look so we painted the cabinets and updated all the other selections. The dramatic mosaic backsplash, brass farm sink, waterfall island, and a custom hood make this kitchen one of a kind! We also took some unused space to create a dry bar with floating shelves and mini fridge. The powder room works…

  - Description: For this project we took a barely used, partially finished basement and transformed it into the ultimate entertaining space! The clients wanted it to be cozy, rich and inviting. We did charcoal gray board and batten all around to really give it that rich and dramatic look + we added custom barn doors, which took it all to the next level! The space is open but has 3 distinct areas - a lounge / tv room, a kitchen area and a game room. At the same time, the clients also wanted to move their washer…

  - Photos: 13
  - Description: This was a total first floor update/renovation! We transformed the mudroom, his office, the kids study and their living room! The color palette consisted of greens, blues and shades of gray with subtle pops of orange throughout. We chose black accents with the lighting, hardware and other accessories that helped unify all the spaces.
- [Kid’s Playrooom](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/kids-playrooom-pj-vj~6966224)
  - Location: Not specified
  - Photos: 4
  - Description: This family had an unfinished attic and we turned it into a sunny and cozy playroom for their kids. Coming up the stairs the barn doors are show stopping, and once you enter the room the fun stripe wall adds a whimsical touch to the space! We also added two window seats with storage underneath, that doubles as a cozy reading spot.
