When Jay Taylor founded his general construction business over 30 years ago, he didn’t imagine his then small company would grow to be one of the most trusted names in residential and commercial construction in the Idaho Falls area. 
 
Jay learned the fine craft of carpentry when we has just a kid and took his first paid construction job when just 15 years old. “I learned the craft the way it is meant to be done—intricate, painstaking detail,” Jay shared of those early days. “A craft, after all, isn’t just something that gets thrown up.”  Though he may not have known it at the time, it was this underlying principle that established RJ Taylor Construction as one of the finest home builders in the region. 
 
Jay introduced his kids to the family business early in life, often taking his son Tory onto the jobsite to work with all the might a 6-year old could muster.  It was this early introduction to the family trade that has helped give RJ Taylor Construction solidarity through the generational transition that family owned businesses go through.  Now operated by Tory, Jay is able to watch with confidence as the next generation takes his company to newer heights.  
 
While RJ Taylor Construction has always been involved in both Residential and Commercial construction, the company has recently began to focus more heavily on commercial construction.  And they have quickly established a name as a premier Idaho Falls builder.
