**Q: Help with flooring decision please** *(in Flooring)*

I'm trying to decide on whether to replace carpet for carpet or replace the carpet with engineered wood flooring.  I'm looking at Hallmark Alta Vista possibly in the color Del Mar.  My dilemma is that our main walkway from the garage to the living area/kitchen/dining room is currently carpet and you can see how grungy it gets with traffic.  We are not strict "take off your shoes" kind of people.

If we went with engineered wood, I would replace the tile in the dining room with that same flooring.  But do I leave the tile in the entryway or carry the engineered wood there as well?
We also have three hallways that will be this same flooring choice.
(PS - the walls will be painted SW Accessible Beige, but mixed with BM Regal Matte)

Would both of these floor colors look good with repose gray walls and white trim? It will be in an open concept living room  dining room, kitchen. The cabinets will be white and the counter tops will be gray and white.

A: Hi Lindsey P, the left one or lighter gray toned would be better which goes well with the rest of your room as well as making your space look modern. You will get better advice with more photos. Thanks.

**Q: What color wood floor looks best?** *(in Flooring)*

I am terrible at making these permanent decisions.  Would love input.  What shade of wood flooring looks best with my kitchen cabinets(the cabinets are not changing)?  That small shelving unit i placed on top of the wood sample is to give you an idea of the furniture in my home.  I also have white baseboards and trim and the kitchen has old chicago backsplash.

**Q: floors to go with gray IKEA BOBDYN cabinets** *(in Flooring)*

Hello all!  We're redoing our kitchen (and living room area) and 90% sure we're going to be installing the IKEA Bobdyn gray cabinets.  Does anyone have suggestions of engineered hardwood floors that go nicely with these cabinets and will also look nice throughout living and dining room areas?  Pictures are appreciated.  Also, we have 4 small kids so we need some pretty tough floors-we're considering hickory.  Thank you in advance.

A: I would suggest you go for medium to medium-dark floors that make contrast of the floors and the cabinets.
