Nashville Interior Decorators - John Thompson from The Decorating Duo. John, growing up in West Virginia, was always being creative, whether decorating, art, or singing. His passion for music eventually brought him to Nashville to pursue a singing career and eventually traveling for several years with a Grammy winning country artist, while still creating beautiful living spaces, whether for himself or friends as time allowed, as well as becoming an accomplished acrylic artist. David, grew up in Southeastern Ohio, working for several years in Social Services, and like John, always had a passion for being creative, as well as learning a multitude of ‘handyman’ skills along the way that would later become invaluable for ‘The Decorating Duo’. David eventually moved to Nashville to also pursue his passion full time. After combining their talents, The Duo worked on 3 episodes of the hit TLC design show ‘Trading Spaces’, while filming in Nashville. We could not have imagined how gorgeous our home turned out and under budget. More importantly they were fun. Decorating can be stressful but they took the time to listen to what we liked, had options picked before we arrived to the store and also encouraged us to consider things we wouldn’t have before and they were right everytime. We never felt pressured or stressed,.They have the ability to turn a normal boring chair or console and reimagine it, place it in your space and it comes alive and looks beautiful! We asked the Decorating Duo for help redecorating our main living spaces. We wanted to add warmth and charm to a great room/dining room, TV room, and kitchen. > As an artist, I had a lot of my own artwork stored away…paintings, stained glass, and other pieces. We had also lived in different countries, and had many interesting objects from those travels. The Decorating Duo were able to get to know us and understand how we wished to use the spaces. They utilized many of the furnishings and artwork which we had, however we bought a few things such as area rugs and drapes. We are very eclectic, and struggled in the past to incorporate colors, art, and entertainment into our public and private areas. The Decorating Duo opened our vision of ourselves.
