We made some interesting discoveries when we tore out the old creaky hardwood, but Pratt replaced the subfloor to provide a solid foundation for the beautiful quartersawn oak that matched the original staircase. We wanted to keep as much of the historic look as possible, so he shored up the old staircases to get rid of most of the squeaks and refinished the surfaces to the original color. Pratt is great to work with and a true craftsman.
