He is a great guy with sound technical knowledge, and very pleasant to work with. He is extremely patient, professional and punctual. Most other contractors are either too busy/impatient or arrogant or pricey or non-communicative. > > Matt and his team worked 6 days a week for 4 months to turn my 3 bed, 2 bath SFH from an old dark cramped fixer upper to a bright spacious picture of elegance. They did everything from tearing down walls and ripping up floors to electrical, plumbing, wood and tile flooring, bathroom remodeling, installing new doors/windows/cabinets/closet systems, and haul away. > > Matt was the first of several contractors that visited my home to give me a bid. Over the next few weeks, the project scope changed rapidly as we worked through the design and permits with our planner/designer. Each time, Matt patiently reworked his quote, even if it required him to make multiple trips to the property. He would happily take care of little jobs that weren't explicitly outlined in the contract, such as picking up materials from the stores etc. > > Matt does not shy away from dirty dingy pest infested places, but in fact runs towards them with both arms. When we wanted to open up the kitchen to the living room but weren't sure if it was safe to tear down the separating wall, Matt voluntarily brought in his friend who was an architect-cum-structural engineer for consultation. Without that help, we were facing a few grand in expenses towards the engineer's fees. > > Communication-wise- Matt is very clear and timely with questions, comments and decisions. As this was my first time flipping an entire home, there were often some things that I didn't understand, and Matt would go to great lengths to explain it to me, so that I could make an informed decision. > > Pricing-wise, Matt's quote for the initial scope of the project was very competitive, but later on, as the project expanded, he quoted us much higher than other contractors, so we had to haggle with him a little. However, I do appreciate his honesty in that, if the dollar wasn't worth his effort, he told me so, instead of compromising on cost and quality. And when I did hire other contractors for parts of the project, Matt wasn't bitter or upset. He gladly coordinated with the other guys to make sure everything went smoothly. > > The only job that Matt didn't want to take up due to lack of sufficient expertise is the installation of "frameless" pivoting glass doors on bathtubs and shower stalls (versus the usual framed sliding doors). This increased the overall cost and time of the bathroom remodel quite a bit, as we had to find someone else to install just the doors. I strongly urge Matt to get up to speed on frameless glass door installation, as that's the way moving forward with bathroom remodels :) > > I'd like to conclude by adding my voice to some of the other reviewers' opinion: Matt is someone I could trust. My upper level flooring soaked up in water, tore thru the ceiling and water got to the downstairs kitchen area, damaged all the laminate, the side walls, kitchen cabinets etc etc. It was horrible. I had lost 60% of my home due to water damage. > > I had to replace the kitchen cabinets, vanity cabinets, ceiling, the side walls, laminate/tile flooring, had to have my furnitures reassembled & put back in their original location. This was essentially a reconstruction/repair and a kitchen/bath remodeling project > > After researching several contractors for two weeks, i zeroed in on US Creative Builders. Majority of the contractors were trying to take advantage of my situation preying on my limited knowledge of construction and how insurance worked.
