> Thanks again Carole for your patience and amazing taste to design my appartement. I can’t wait to work with you again when I find my countryside house. Emily

**★★★★★ — HU-645843752, Dec. 2020**

> Carole helped me decorate my space in San Francisco.
> She implemented a lively and comfortable design which was better than what we envisioned. I highly recommend investing in her talent.

**★★★★★ — HU-249533441, Dec. 2020**

> Following the purchase of my flat, I called on Carole's services for the interior decoration and I am delighted with it. I highly recommend her for her professionalism, her reactivity, her numerous proposals always in adequacy with my budget. I won't hesitate for a second to call her again for my next flat.

**★★★★★ — HU-900103316, July 2019**

> I have a home in Paris, I knew I could count on Carole to update the look and conserve the original wooden beam structures of the house. The essential points were to a have a clean, cosy and modern home. A place to come to and relax. Another important aspect was to make it as cool as possible during the summer and warm enough during winters.
> The house has great space but its initial partition was badly separated, making the space seem small.
> One of the first questions Carole asked me was « why did I want to update »
> My answer was to make it a confortable living space and make it feel like fluid, breathable.
> I shared with her my vision, and the great listener she is, she encapsulated it and transformed my home into an incredible home space with clean lines, use of white, the wood beams, accentuated with nature/plants, wooden floor and some carpet. Made full use of the natural light. Made the home incredibly spacious and quaint.

**Comment from Carole Vaudable Interior Design:**

> Thank you for your kind words Ayumi!
> I'm so happy we got to create a home that resembles you!

**★★★★★ — HU-359933929, July 2019**

> I want to thank Carole again for her amazing taste and patience. We bought an apartment and couldn’t find time to decor it. We needed a cosy atmosphere with the baby but also a place with a « nature » feel. She added green tones (which I would have never imagine I would like) and it feels so right and Peaceful. Optimizing space was also wonderful! She hid closets in the hallway (our baby cannot grab anything and hurt himself) and it is perfect for our paperwork and books. I can not recommend someone nicer and more dedicated than carole ! Thanks again !

**Comment from Carole Vaudable Interior Design:**

> It was such a pleasure to work with you and your family Emily! I knew you would fall in love with green, such a soothing and zen color.

**★★★★★ — HU-902553358, July 2019**

> Carole helped me remodel my kitchen and bathroom in my Manhattan apartment and its looks stunning!
> She does not try to impose a style, she listens and guides you.
> What seemed to be an insurmountable project turned out to be lots of fun.
> She has the French approach of taking time to create

**Comment from Carole Vaudable Interior Design:**

> Thank you for your trust Alex, I look forward to helping you again!

**★★★★★ — Jose Fernandez, July 2019**

> Carole did much more than design my apartment's interior: she successfully took a vision I struggled to convey and produced it with the finest materials, most tasteful furniture, and accessories that resonated with me. Thanks to her, after many apartments in NY, this is the first time that I feel at home. She is patient, her work ethic is impeccable and she commands what seems to be an endless source of suppliers for whatever you might need brought or built.

**Comment from Carole Vaudable Interior Design:**

> Thank you Jose, your satisfaction at the end of this project was priceless!

**★★★★★ — Sarah P., July 2019**

> I live in Paris in a small Parisian apartment. I wanted to decorate my living room in such a way as to gain space while having the impression of living in my cocoon. Madame Vaudable listened perfectly to what we asked her. She has mixed styles according to our tastes: Scandinavian and Haussman, raw and modern, white and colors, so that we have a warm interior and our own.
> Person very attentive, kind and fast execution

**Comment from Carole Vaudable Interior Design:**

> Merci Sarah ! Ce fut un réel plaisir de travailler dans un espace avec tant de potentiel.

**★★★★★ — HU-190781749, July 2019**

**★★★★★ — HU-669609577, June 2019**

> I had a pleasure working with Carole and I couldn’t be more pleased. She listened carefully to my ideas and created a vision for my apartment that reflected my style but in a much more creative way. She is full of knowledge and inspiration and she cares about your space just like it’s her own.

**Comment from Carole Vaudable Interior Design:**

> Alice, thank you - it's always a blast to work with you!

**★★★★★ — Jacob Schaap, June 2019**

> Carole helped me out when I moved to Soho, New York and did a fantastic job. She was able to combine style with functionality and thus make my relatively small apartment feel spacious, luxurious, and like a true home. Lats but not least, we stayed within our budget, which was great. All in all, an excellent job and would highly recommend!

**Comment from Carole Vaudable Interior Design:**

> Thank you Jacob, you gave us so much freedom to implement our ideas!

**★★★★★ — HU-61323694, June 2019**

> Carole completely redesigned my apartment. She turned what was a once a staid and bland environment into a vibrant yet peaceful oasis. She pays extremely close attention to detail, is very creative and has an artistic eye for open spaces. She is also very easy to work with and was always attentive to my needs. I’d highly recommend Carole for anyone looking for a top-notch interior designer.

**Comment from Carole Vaudable Interior Design:**

> Thank you Katerina! I loved the vision you had for your space and am grateful we were able to make it become a reality!

**★★★★★ — HU-361525438, June 2019**

> I was so fortunate to have discovered Carole! The key here is her amazing professionalism. She handled everything from the design, proposal, schedule, communication with the contractors, follow ups, advice on appliances, furniture, artwork... plus she really helped me make the right decisions regarding material and style for my budget. She explained the process with what to expect and assisted with answers and advice along the way. I'm so grateful for the results!

**Comment from Carole Vaudable Interior Design:**

> The process of working with you was so smooth Chris, thank you for believing in us!

  - Description: In this Union Square bachelor pad the challenge was to create an industrial yet inviting look. Silver metals, contrasted stained woods and Chesterfield leather seating pieces coexist with the fiery energy of its owner, a real estate investor, through accents of red as well as vintage posters depicting racing cars. Industrial style is often associated with raw, unfinished textures such as exposed brick, concrete and metal. To make the space feel welcoming, I softened these textures with the addit…

  - Description: In this elegant masculine bedroom, my intention was to create a super comfortable environment within these penetrating dark walls. This intimate setting composed of strong elements like metal, fire and leather is harmonized by softer ones like the representation of the female figure, plants, as well as plush textures. The homeowner had a vision of a sultry and moody ambiance. He desired a space that is both inviting and mysterious, with bold colors and luxurious textures. We added dramatic light…

  - Description: The purpose of this living room design was too keep a neutral base to focus on the bold art and vibrant decor elements. On the walls we can notice the cool and flowy lines of Willem de Kooning contrast the abstract Zao Wou Ki that feels like and erupting volcano. George Condo in the back comes to bring some chimerical pastoral landscape matching the pastel-colored Adler console beneath it. The color palette was chosen to complement the art pieces without overwhelming them. I selected the furnitu…

  - Description: Modern neutral decor is the style and color palette most requested by my clients. The key to creating a light-colored bathroom that is still exciting is to introduce patterns and textures. Here, the herringbone clay floor tiles, embrace the penny round mosaic shower wall. Nature is invited through the wood-paneled back wall and the cabinet doors made of preserved flowers in resin. All these elements come in symbiosis to offer a luxurious and truly relaxing bathroom experience. I incorporated pal…

  - Description: In this project I wanted to contrast the concrete surroundings of this Manhattan, New York building by bringing nature and color to the interiors. The nature here is inspired by the Amazonian jungle where you can experience a burst of the senses. - Description: In this Brooklyn townhouse the challenge was to combine sophisticated, mature items with a touch of contemporary design through splashes of color and art. The classical: marble countertop, herringbone hardwood floor and chiseled crown moldings are a solid structure for the playful teardrop pendants, abstract painting and coral dining chairs. - Description: In this Parisian apartment overlooking a garden I wanted to reflect the outside nature with sage green tones and the hand-bent-wooden coffee table. This garden-like atmosphere compliments a refined set of antique furniture typically French, with a silk covered Louis XV daybed as well as a worldly and tasteful art collection with pieces of Chinese artist Zao Wou Ki and American painter Paul Kremer. ## Community Q&A

**Q: bedroom carpet ideas** *(in Flooring)*

Transition to modern look wanted for bedrooms. Carpet ideas

A: go for a beige wool. It last decades and is waterproof. The natural oil in the wool makes it harder to stain. And please no shoes on carpet!

**Q: Demolishing A Cute Little Kitchen** *(in Kitchens)*

I have started demoing the second floor of the triplex, and will be tearing out this cute little kitchen. It was site built by someone thirty years ago, in the fifties style. Hard to see, but the shelves have polished aluminum face trim, the counter and backsplash are seamless with a rounded transition, the cabinets were well painted and look as good as new.
This is a photo from when the tenant was still here. The kitchen looks empty, sad, and dusty now.

I don’t like destroying things, but a wall needs to go where the left side of the range is, a door at the far left wall, and the whole thing rebuilt into a trim professional looking kitchenette for my future office. I will salvage the steel sink and cabinet and give it away, ditto the vintage GE range. The microwave is already in the dumpster and the cabinet above, sawzalled to pieces, followed it, as did the soffit and vent.
I’ve put off demo’ing the other cabinetry, because I don’t want to. But it has to be done.

A: Do you have a question we can help you with John?

**Q: Love Taj Celine quartz from Stratus Surfaces but I'm in Canada...help!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I've been looking for the right material for our kitchen renovation for weeks now. I stumbled upon Taj Celine Quartz from Stratus Surfaces in the USA but they don't service Canada. Any suggestions as to how I might get my hands on it? Or other options you think are very similar. I'm getting crossed-eyed after looking at so many samples!!!!!

A: https://www.caesarstone.ca/countertops/5212-taj-royale/
https://www.hanstone.ca/en/colours-hanstone/taj-mahal

Good luck!

**Q: Does my garage door need to match my front door?** *(in Garages/Workshops)*

We need a new garage door. Our house is a carriage style coastside home with gray shingles and white trim. Our front door is painted salmon color. We are debating between a wood garage door and a white garage door. What is recommended?

A: Color blocks are made to codify thing: bring attention, signify a different area. The garage building and door are not particularly aesthetic so I would make the door light blue as well. It will look way more put together. No attention needs to be brought to the door itself.

**Q: Bathroom layout okay??** *(in Bathrooms)*

Hi, I’m redesigning my bathroom and wanted to see if people have any ideas/recs for a better layout? What I have is pretty basic...just want to make sure I'm not screwing anything up 😂
Also, I put photos/notes of the current bath here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/xqc8nbhS3neTL1sV7
I really want a wet room — even a small soaking tub is fine — but I don’t feel like I have enough space (unless I do a narrow vanity or pedestal sink, which I don’t want). If you think it can fit I’m all ears. If not, I believe it will just be as shown: Vanity + toilet + walk-in shower.
Thanks so much

A: Hire a pro Robert - it will spare you time and costly mistakes

**Q: choosing rug for bathroom** *(in Home Decorating)*

So I have had the white rug in my half bathroom for a while now but since my kids use it the most I felt like a darker color would be better. Loved this style I found but it extends to the edge of the wall almost covering the baseboard trim. Is this a deal breaker? Im not 100% set on it so looking for opinions and recommendations here

A: Existential question! Go for the darker one.
