Bill Kimberley, president of Kimberley Development, has been building homes in central Iowa for over 41 years and has also built a reputation for exceeding expectations.

Home buyers have found that Kimberley Development is committed to building the best homes for the money, crafting single-family homes, townhomes, multifamily projects, and developments. Kimberley Development is known for its timely construction, customer satisfaction, and willingness to service its product even after completion. As one homeowner wrote, "We know our list of changes made things challenging, but you always rose to the occasion!"

To make the process even smoother, the company operates a design center in its Ankeny offices with a full-time interior decorator available to assist with decisions. Potential buyers can also view model homes to see how Kimberley's years of experience have led to simple but effective design changes to make living more comfortable and convenient.

> I've lived in my Kimberley home for 5 years now and can only speak positively about the quality of the home. The entire process from start to finish was simple and the communication was on point.

**★ — JENNIFER SCHROEDER, July 2017**

> This is the worst quality home we’ve ever purchased and we bought with Kimberley because they led us to believe it would be the complete opposite. One would think the house would have been very well put together since the foundation was dug on December 9th 2015, poured December 16th, 2015, yet it was another nearly 10 months before we closed on the house (August 26th, 2016, not by our delay). We’re quickly learning Kimberley seems quick to walk away from their commitment to quality once they have their money.
>
> Our pre-close walkthrough took over 1 ½ hours due to all the issues we noticed. As it progressed, Rick (Kimberley’s warranty rep) began rushing us with a claim that he had a “dinner date”. Because we were noticing so many cosmetic issues, Rick told us to put post-it notes on each issue; assuring us those items would be addressed despite not being written in the pre-close punch list. I won’t digress in this review to cover Rick’s arrogant and condescending nature.
>
> Ten months and a leaking foundation later, we’ve had 16 subs come out already and have a remaining punch list of over 60 items. The exterior of our house has been in need of a paint job since early March when the third siding sub made repairs (and damaged one of our cedar deck steps in the process). We’re told we’re “on a wait list for paint”..four months and still nothing.
>
> Because we trusted Rick and used his sticky note method, we’re now being told Kimberley will not address the cosmetic items because they were “not noted on the pre-close punch list”. These cosmetic items include sloppy paint and stain throughout and sloppily installed and crumbling brick veneer on our fireplace. Structural deficiencies, per IRC and NAHB standards, include a wall that leans one inch in four feet (as verified by our engineer yet Rick claims it's off 1/4 inch in four feet), a leaking foundation, a deck support post that leans/bows significantly, doors that are out of plumb, gutters that don't drain, an island countertop that is not close to level, egress window with improper/no drainage, flooring joists that are not properly supported, and numerous other issues.
>
> We thought it wise to hire an engineer to do a survey on the house before the 1 yr warranty expires. We don’t have his final report but he noticed several code violations with the house. Not even 1/3 of the way through the house, he indicated he’d seen sufficient evidence of poor craftsmanship to give him proper representation of the low-quality of work and will note as such in his report.
>
> We also cannot forget how our contract clearly states the subfloors were to be glued and screwed yet when carpet was pulled up to confirm this (after being told by Rick and Kimberley that they would not address our squeaky, popping floors and wondering why this was the case when they were to have been glued and screwed), it was discovered the floors are indeed not screwed down.
>
> This has been a most unpleasant experience!

**★★★★★ — Tina Noel, May 2016**

> I have had the pleasure of working with Kimberley Development and the design staff on about a dozen homes recently. They are very professional and great fun to work with - specifically, Jenna, Lisa, Tawnya and April , whom are so full of unique ideas and always open to try something fun and new in design or color concepts. They have a tremendous amount of knowledge in the home building industry and will easily walk you thru the process from start to finish. No need to worry... they will build you a unique and truly beautify home ! They pay attention to the smallest detail which gives them the name in the industry as one of the best in the Des Moines area !
