We really enjoy a simple, clear system. It provides a “map” per se, to the successful completed remodel project that we are all aiming for. We find that following this Design Process assures all of us that the relevant questions, selections, concerns, and communication are being addressed in a logical order.

Strong communication starts here and continues through each phase of the project. We will ask a lot of questions–carefully listening to fully understand you & your family, your vision and your fears. Incorporating your dreams, space attributes and/or restrictions, and desired budget is the job of a certified designer. Let us take the burden off of you!

Based on our prior discussions, we’ll show you design ideas along with a corresponding budget range that will incorporate your project objectives. Hopefully, we have hit the mark and you are ready to formally start the detailed design process.

> In February, I hired DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen to remove my bathtub and replace it with a shower. They also remodeled the rest of the bathroom. First of all, I found the price was very reasonable. The installers were excellent, especially John, who did most of the remodel. The whole process took a week and a half. At the end, they cleaned up so well that you would never know they were there. I love my bathroom. The workmanship is excellent. I highly recommend DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen for your bathroom remodel.

> The kitchen in our home was the original from 1970. It had been my dream to bring it into the 21st century. We contacted three contractors for quotes, including Dream Maker. They had remodeled our bathroom a few years earlier and we had been very pleased with the results. They also had completed the rehab in the time they had stated. Paul worked with us to establish a modern design within our budget. The job was completed in 8 days, ahead of schedule, and is stunning (my personal opinion). Every time I look at it I feel pride, joy, and delight. John and John were the primary workmen and they were a joy to work with. They completed everything ahead of schedule and with great skill. I still look at my kitchen and can’t believe it’s ours.

> Dream Maker renovated our kitchen one year ago and recently renovated two of our bathrooms. Every step was painless from the design to the actual renovation. The staff was very respectful and considerate of our home and our ideas. We would recommend them to any friends and will use their services in the future

> I cannot fully convey how happy we are with the kitchen remodel we had done by Paul Califari, Tanja Albright, and the construction team at DreamMaker Bath and Kitchen. From our initial contact with Paul to the final day of installation, Paul and his team were professional and eager work in partnership with us to meet our needs, desires, and budget. Tanja's design brought a creative vision to maximize the beauty and functionality of our space. Her attention to detail, sensitivity to our budget, and keen design sense were invaluable to the success of our project. Paul's construction crew was courteous and professional, taking care to minimize dust and debris at the worksite and leaving the property neat every day. When the inevitable glitches of the project arose (and there were very few), Paul communicated with us immediately about the nature of the problem and the steps already taken to resolve it as quickly as possible. The entire project, from tear down through final inspection, took under 5 weeks because of Tanja's and Paul's meticulous planning. Thanks to Paul and Tanja, I can say that we would change nothing about our new kitchen - it is just perfect!

> We are working on room number 6 with DreamMakers! Tanja has been our designer throughout; she and the whole staff at DreamMakers have been professional and skilled. Paul, the owner, is a perfectionist and is on the scene to add his expertise. We used 700 square feet of large tile for our project, and Paul and the team spent time looking at all the options to choose the best layout so that doorways and transition areas were not awkward.
> We can't recommend them highly enough!

> From my first meeting with Paul, the owner, it was clear that he listens to his clients to understand exactly what they are looking for. He carefully explained what would need to be done to make the renovations I wanted and what it would cost. While it was more than I had hoped for, it was definitely worth it for the quality, the convenience, and the personal touches of the project. Peter, the designer, worked with me to maintain the aesthetics of my 1920's bungalow but with all the modern conveniences. John, the master carpenter who was onsite, was very professional and worked at keeping the rest of the house clean and protected as well. My job was done on budget, on time, and was actually a lot of fun. It's so beautiful now I wish I could spend more time in the bathroom, it's my favorite room of the house! Thank you everyone at Dream Maker!

> Paul, Tanja, Frank, Sean and John were all excellent t work with. They were patient and kind with the many questions we had and walked us through the many different steps of redesigning a kitchen. They guided us on the practicality and functionality of what we were looking to have and the end result is a beautiful kitchen, which is now open to our dining room. It has allowed us to use our kitchen as more than just a place to cook food, it's now a living space.
>
> The work was well done and every day they let us know what the plan was for the next day, which was very helpful. I miss seeing and talking with them, but with the beautiful work they've done, we will always remember them fondly.

> I highly recommend DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen. They refaced the cabinets in our kitchen and half bath, replaced our floor and painted both rooms. Our experience with them was great. They are professional, detail oriented and do what they say they're going to do on time. Working with Paul, the designer, went very smoothly. We were able to get what we wanted within our budget with suggestions from Paul.

> DreamMaker was an excellent choice. The experience was positive from the design to the finished product. Each person was professional and friendly. Most important, the staff was respectful of my home, minimizing the effects of the renovation as much as possible. The job began ahead of schedule and was done in the time range given. I appreciated the constant communication and the fact that the owner was on site to check on progress. My Master Bath turned out exactly as I wanted and I will enjoy it for many years!

> Guidance in layout, colors and helping us to discover what future owners may like in a kitchen were the objectives that we were looking for in a kitchen remodeler. We found just that and more in Paul at Dreammaker. While helping us to find styles and colors we liked, they kept us advised of the price of our choices and kept us from making color mistakes. We were very happy with the construction process. We were amazed at the speed of the demolition and that the team contained the dust quite well. Their team worked hard to stay on schedule and actually finished a bit ahead! They were great in helping us through changes to the plan that we or they found necessary. Their new layout gave us more room so we are no longer bumping into each other and made the room seem so much bigger. We have gotten many complements on the kitchen remodel especially on the back splash and counter space. All in all they did a great job that we have been happy to show off.

 - Description: It was very important to the homeowner that we maintained the idea of a traditional dining space in this 1927 colonial. In order to accomplish an open and bright space we expanded the doorway from the kitchen to the dining room from 30" to 80". We also added more square footage to the house by making the old back porch part of the new kitchen. This gave us the opportunity to include a mudroom space for this growing family. The sink is now where the old back door once was. By removing the small w…

## Community Q&A

**Q: Recently taken on fixer upper. Need everyone's ideas!** *(in Home Decorating)*

Hi everyone! I've recently taken on a fixer upper. Obviously walls will be repainted. What are everyone's thoughts on things I should do?

Alright. Here's the outside. What changes would look best to you all? Probably definitely a darker roof/shingles. What color shutters/trim do you all think?

A: You're right about the paint! Definitely needs to be more cohesive in the dinning/living rooms! What kind of investment are you looking at right now? Full gut of the kitchen or just a quick update until later?
A quick update in the kitchen could start with removing the valance! Nothing screams 1985 like a scalloped valance! Also repaint in here too. Get rid of the red over the cabinets and try some trim molding on the top of the cabinets. A properly sized hood would do wonders as well. ( I'm guessing they took the 36" range with them!! LOL!) Those would be the quickest changes for the smallest investment I can see. Also, if you don't like the back splash you could take it down and paint for now until you decide to invest in a bigger plan.
A bigger plan would be full gut of everything including the wall to the living room. At that point go hire a professional!!
The house looks like it has loads of potential! Good buy!!

**Q: Need help deciding:OPEN storage vs CABINET style bathroom vanity** *(in Design Dilemma)*

This is a small bathroom and have decided on Strasser alkai vanity in satin white 30 wide X 18 deep. Not sure if I should chose the SPA collection with open shelf or the cabinet style (sample photos attached )
Anyone have open storage and like or dislike it ?
Any issues with open storage next to toilet ?
The tub area will have 4x10 subway tile and walls painted possible light gray or may use beadboard too
Floor will be farmhouse cafe plank porcelain tile
Plan to use baskets under vanity if go with open storage

A: Open storage looks nice and as Denita said it does make the space feel less crowed. My advice would be to consider how much of a "neat freak" you classify yourself. Does dust on a shelf bother you? Will you feel the need to clean this all the time because of the dust off of toilet paper and towels? I will also back up the thought of how close to the toilet you are....how many boys are in the house? I'd play it safe and go with the drawers! (Nice cabinet style choice!)

**Q: Rug in space, post \#2** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I've been having a great time trying to find a neutral rug that goes in my space. My couch is a very warm color and my space is more of a cool color, so I've been trying to find a rug that goes with both the floors and the space. I was thinking of adding color with the curtains, pillows, throw, etc. However I want more opinions. (Ignore the blanket and pillow.. they are my daughters :) )

A: I like the rug. What you need is more furniture! Coffee table, chairs, etc. Bring more grey and tan combination in with the other furniture. Find a pub chair with a bold pattern and a coffee table with some rustic wood and some metal on it.

**Q: Painting Kitchen Cabinets! Need Color advice** *(in Paint)*

Hello,
We are in the process of planning our kitchen remodel. Today we have all dark oak cabinets and the grain is driving us nuts.

We are buying all new maple shaker cabinet doors to replace the current doors. The cabinet boxes will be staying. We will be painting the doors and the cabinets.
We were planning on doing a two toned color scheme. The upper cabinets with Mindful Gray by Sherwin Williams

And the lower cabinets in Kendall Charcoal by Benjamin Moore

We did a test run on the cabinet doors and picked a backsplash we really like.

(Ignore the lower stripe of dark grey, it was an option but turned out to be too blue)
The counter tops will be staying for now. We have thought about replacing them, but that would be at a later date. We do plan on replacing the floor with a wood plank vinyl (not chosen yet until paint job is done), and black stainless steel appliances!
We are struggling with what color to paint the walls. We know off white will look best, but we are scared with how much wall space (especially in dining room) the off white will be too blah. And honestly, the lady kind of hates off white! We were thinking Alabaster - but - we are really stressed out with messing this up.
Please give us any warnings, tips, or feedback possible! Thanks!

A: An easy fix for the dangerous range location would be to move the cabinet to the right of the range to the other side then slide the range, vent hood and cabinet to the right so there are now cabinets on both sides. You seem like you're pretty handy and this would be an easy fix! If the wall and base cabinets between the refrigerator and range are large cabinets with 2 doors invest in a couple of unfinished base cabinets from a big box store or go to a Habitat for Humanity and get some old ones. (Saw the counter in half...you're going to replace it later anyway! And hold off on back splash until AFTER you do the new counters!!)
As far as the cabinet color choice I like what you have chosen. I have 4 kids and a messy husband and i feel like I spend half my time wiping food off the white base cabinets! Keep the colors you chose, once you fix the lighting it won't matter how dark they are!!
GOOD LUCK!

**Q: Kitchen Cabinets** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Thinking about changing colour of kitchen cabinets.
Any suggestions?

A: I also agree, do nothing. Let the new homeowner decide. You never know, they might love it!!

**Q: Where is the vanity from** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: This is a semi-custom vanity from Showplace Cabinetry.
