> Nice guy and does good work. However, when hired for a second project he took a deposit 8 months ago and has only been here for 90 minutes since. We tried every way to get him to perform on the contract, but he went silent once we asked for our money back

> Frank and his crew recently installed a new tile floor, quartz countertop, and sink in our kitchen, and my husband and I could not be more pleased. Our kitchen floor was terribly uneven and had a particularly bad sag in the center. They did an amazing job leveling out the floor, which alone took several days of tedious work. The installed tile looks beautiful and I love it (thanks to Frank for your help picking it out)! Also, I love my backsplash and did not want to replace it. Frank removed the existing Formica countertop and replaced it with absolutely no damage to my beautiful tiles. In addition, because we replaced Formica with granite we were left with a 1/2 inch gap between the bottom of my existing backsplash and the top of the counter. Frank managed to find and cut tiles that perfectly matched – it’s impossible to tell that he added anything. Frank and his crew were easy to work with , cleaned up after themselves, and obviously take pride in what they do. I recommend them with no reservations.

> I am writing this review because if you read the ones on this site you would hire Frank like we did which is a huge mistake. Frank was hired to install an outdoor grill and bar. He never installed the lights, rotisserie, or inside shelving. The grill is set in stone and it is not level. We have since learned that it does not meet code. He told us he had ordered parts to complete these things so as he was waiting for them he moved on to work in our kitchen. He installed an ice maker and wine cooler and left them uneven. He challenged me when I showed him they were not lined up. He was hired to fabricate cabinet slides and add a drawer under our oven. The slides do not function and the draw is not lined up with the other drawer that was already there. In fact the drawer fell out of the wall as soon as he left. He returned to fix it but told us it was too much work to line it up with the other drawer, so he didn’t. He also was hired to fabricate a section for me to put various cooking trays. This too was not done well and had to be redone. He had a $6000 deposit towards refinishing our laundry room but after seeing such poor work, not finishing the grill and how extremely unprofessionally he handled everything we asked him for the deposit back. It took us 10 weeks to get the deposit back and during that time he sent very unprofessional and threatening texts to my husband. If you Google his company you will see various reviews other than the ones on Houzz that speak to these things.

> Frank and his team at Options in Granite deserve to be recognized for their outstanding service and workmanship. Frank was referred to me for a bathroom remodel and I must say that working with Frank has been one of the easiest experiences my husband and I have had with a general contractor. I appreciate and am impressed by the large fund of knowledge Frank possesses in all aspects of general contracting! Carrera marble 2” hex is not easy to work with and I saw intimidation in other contractors eyes when I was interviewing for estimates, but Frank reassured me that he had Carrera marble tamed and that everything would look perfect. He and his team produced a glittery marble floor that beams in the sun and is as graceful as a high end spa. He moved colors around to make sure that the color was consistent and comfortable to the eye. True artisan. I have found him to be highly professional and so utterly enjoyable to communicate with about our recent bathroom renovation and other potential projects, that I look forward to hiring him again in the future. Frank and his team did an exemplary and BEAUTIFUL job with this project and I look forward to working with him in my home for years to come.

> Options in Granite was recommended to us three years ago when we purchased our fixer-upper "forever" home and we have been so fortunate to have found not only a talented general contractor but designer and friend. Since the home was purchased, Options in Granite has assisted in a litany of projects - both large scale and small - including: our kitchen, master bath, powder room, removal of walls, flooring, and electrical work. Most recently, we completed a complex patio and grill-zebo project that included a fire pit, fireplace, bar area, roof extension, complex electrical work and cement and stone work. When entrusting our home to Options In Granite, we know that every detail is reviewed and that pride and craftsmanship will always be at the forefront. We would strongly recommend to anyone interested in a GC with an eye for detail and a work ethic and talent that is hard to find these days.

> Options in Granite is my go-to contractor for all my home renovation needs. They were integral to our kitchen and each of our bathroom renovations, assisting in design thru to installation and final detail work. Our granite and marble coordinates beautifully with our tile, and is a focal point in our home. They had an attention to detail and were a joy to work with, which is much to be said when it comes to contractors!

> We thought old-world craftsmanship was a thing of the past until Frank showed us otherwise. He did beautiful stonework on our fireplace and mounted a mantel on the stone. He installed built ins. That was tricky, at best, given our uneven walls but the results are fabulous. He placed marble countertops and painted the living room. Frank was so helpful with suggestions and always attentive to our schedules. I was most impressed with his meticulous attention to detail. Frank provides the highest quality of work at reasonable prices.

> I would highly recommend Frank and his company Options in Granite to anyone I know. He has been working in our homes for over 12 years as well as other family memebers and friends. Frank and his crew are amazing at their craft, wonderful to work with and highly creative with their suggestions and designs. Frank's professionalism, willingness to go above and beyond to make your home project everything you hoped for and more is his goal. These are just a few of the many reasons why we continue working with Frank and his company. You will not go wronng hiring them!!!

> Options In Granite is an exceptional family-owned business that the greater-Philadelphia area is lucky to have in it's community. I was hired as a craftsman to collaborate on projects that required a skilled approach to numerous materials combining to create beautifully remodeled interior spaces. Frank wanted every detail of each project to be planned in advance, creating a cleaner and more beautiful finished-product.
> Options In Granite has skilled employees led by Frank Caikoski, a craftsman and proud business-owner.
> The customer service is also exceptional.
> I have 20 years of experience in home building, home remodeling, custom furniture construction and project planning in high-end homes and businesses in Philadelphia, Chicago and Los Angeles. The quality of the planning and finished work performed by Options In Granite rivals any I've seen across the country.

> We have been referring Frank Caikoski for many years to customers who want to update their existing fireplace or for customers who new an entirely new fireplace. Frank and his talented workers have done stacked stone, tile, fieldstone, stucco, granite, slate, etc. Their name says granite but they do it all--including hanging the customers TV over the fireplace! And if you are confused about what material to use Frank has made some wonderful suggestions to our customers. His work is top notch.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Color/type of stone?** *(in Photo Questions)*

What kind of stone did you use and what color? Where did you source it? Looks great. Thanks!

A: Hi Cam, sorry I am just getting back to you. I am fairly new to Houzz and didnt see the comment you sent. The Stone is by Eldoraldo Stone the color is called Castaway if my memory serves me. Where are you located?
Thanks,
Frank

**Q: Need help designing fireplace/mantel** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We have a gas fireplace that is about 6 inches up off of floor (so we will have a hearth 12" deep and 6 inches high). It is set forward, and on both sides are window. Question relates to the space above the mantel - do we run it straight up to cathedral ceiling or do we push it all the way back to be even with the windows (creating a shelf at the top of mantel that is about 22" deep). My concern is if we push the wall back, creates shelf that is way too deep.
Here are pictures as framed but we have ability to change.
This room will be the family room and the TV will NOT be above the fireplace. House is traditional/colonial so probably will have a traditional wood mantel.

A: This is quite ironic that I just stumbled upon your dilemma! Take a look at some of the pictures on my page and see if this helps you out. I would consider myself a fireplace expert so I'm sure I could point you in the right direction. I have run stone to ceiling and stopped short but used a ledge stone piece. Let me know what you think!
Where are you located?

**Q: Need help deciding on 1 sink or a double kitchen sink** *(in Design Dilemma)*

One large kitchen sink or 60/40 double sink. pros and cons of either?

A: I dont think many people fill a sink up with soapy water to wash dishes anyhow, the water gets too dirty. I leave the water run inane use a sponge and add soap as needed, isn't this the way it's done? Lol :)

**Q: Help!! I hate the way my tile guys laid my brick (shocker I know)** *(in Design Dilemma)*

My brick mud/entry was supposed to have 1/4" grout lines. This am I showed up and they said that it wouldn't work (something about the center line I think, which sounds more like a tile thing than a brick thing) and they had to go tighter. I came back to see this. The bricks are TOUCHING one another. I am devastated. It looks more like a dry patio than a brick entry and I feel like it is way too busy. There is no grout yet, but how much will that help?? And won't it be flush with the top of the brick now? What do I do?? Inspiration pic last

A: Wow glad it seems to all have worked out!

**Q: Basement Floor leaks, help please** *(in Design Dilemma)*

My wife and I bought our home around 1.5 years ago and have had water issues coming from the walls and a crappy chop/patch job from the realtors contractor.
We have just foamed the walls a few weeks ago (pictured) and it has definitely done the trick. It even rained a couple times and nothing, but these past 3 days it has been raining on and off pretty good and now the cracks in the floor have seeped water/moister in. Some spots are just damp while a couple others are about half an inch of water or more.
I am not looking to finish the basement completely, yet. Though, I want to put the exercise equipment in the main area where it has been getting the most water and I will be turning a separate room down there into a studio for my drumming and music creating which will have a lot of expensive equipment at stake.
I see all of these things at the store and online that I could paint on that say it seals and locks moister out, but I guess I am making this out to be a lot worse in my head than it really is, but I'm hesitant to trust a coat of "paint" to keep years of investing safe. We all have our happy place(s) :)
I guess what I am asking is am I okay with just buying "over the counter" sealer-paint or is there something else I should do or even a combination of things?
Here is what I have going on so far…
Thank you in advance! :)

A: Wow you got alot of great advice!
Franch Drain with Mir drain, new Sump pumps, dehumidifier that discharges directly into sump pit. Then you can dry loc and epoxy paint your basement after all moisture is gone!

**Q: Can you tell me the name of the tile and who sells it?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you tell me the name of the tile and who sells it?

A: I can supply it for you.
