The work included combining two bedrooms into one larger area, expanding and completely redoing a master bathroom, adding a screened in porch and sunroom, adding a second floor laundry room, and adding a tile backsplash and other cosmetic details in the kitchen.

**Q: Kitchen Cabinets???  Dark or light** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Building a new home....what is the most popular now in kitchen cabinetry?

A: Depending on what your goals are I would be much more concerned with what isn't going to be unpopular in 10 to 15 years than what is popular now.  There are classic looks that never go out of style while many trends of the day turn into a look that will date your kitchen and home.

A: The accent strip is "Safari" by Dune, the main wall tile is "Karnis Polished"

We know we want to add shutters and a large window box to the front right window, but the patio area and steps are a mess! Any suggestions?  Should we remove the patio altogether and replace it with shrubs, or try to rebuild a patio that is level with the porch? Also, painted concrete or natural wood?? A: I would say replace the front door with something that has lites that match the style of the existing windows.

I actually find the grays quite pleasing, I think an accent color on the door and some elements of the windows in a deep red would give it some pizazz. 

For the patio and landing you could looking into having an epoxy coating applied if they deemed the concrete to be sound enough.  These coatings can be colored and textured so there is a very wide variety of looks.

I'm also not loving the railing...do you think it is original?  I like it in and of itself but it looks too ornate to fit the house.

A: Without knowing the style of your space it's hard to say but some other similar ideas to Neecy's would be to use some old shutters as floor screens, or you could look at hanging some of Armstrong's panels http://www.armstrong.com/resclgam/na/ceilings/en/us/divider-panels.html

Who makes this sink?

A: That's actually the original sink in this home that was built in the late 1800's, it's an original Kohler console sink from the days when they still made ceramic castings of excellent quality! (Sadly they do not anymore).
