Stefan proposed two designs within our limitations (budget, keeping the house in the vein of its original architecture, considering the way we live and what we like to have as features in our home) and worked steadfastly with us to tweak our chosen design until it was exactly what we wanted. He made several very detailed, complex alterations to the design to satisfy some rather challenging customer requirements and we are extremely happy with the outcome of his entire design. Stefan is very easy to work with, has clear schedules, budgets and budget vs actual tracking, which made the process very simple for us. We wish everyone had that level of organization!! Stefan also worked directly with our contractor when requested to clarify the complex design work that he had added in for us. The house looks amazing and we have already received several compliments from the neighbors regarding how we maintained the look and feel of the original house in the new design. We had no complaints/concerns at all. This is not something that can always be said about the remodeling experience. Tim has a wonderful design aesthetic, an attention to detail and an innovative mind that sees the potential and possibility with spaces, and then, with immaculate attention, makes those ideas into a reality. Along with those talents comes a strong ability to communicate well, to hear what we wanted, to help us clarify what we really did (and did not want) and to guide us through the process. Tim was firm when we needed him to be but was always respectful. To just put the whole experience over the top, Tim is a fun and kind person which made spending many hours together during a potentially stressful situation, an enjoyable time. > The end result, as far as the product we arrived at, is a home that is beautiful and functional. It has little details that catch you by surprise and make you smile. The natural light throughout the house is phenomenal. We wanted Tim to help us connect our indoor living space with the outside and he did so beautifully. There are big vistas to the outside, as well as small peeks of trees and earth and plants that help provide that desired connection. > We asked Tim to help us conceptualize and design the overall flow of the home, which involved changing the orientation of the front entrance and adding on a second story as well as adding space to the ground floor. Tim was able to introduce design elements that allowed the "old" space to relate seamlessly with the new space. Not only did Tim design the flow, he also added incredible details to the design that allowed the finish result to be a true work of craftsmanship and art. For example, the half walls that separated the old living room from the new space allowed a flow of light and connection through the house, but they were designed in such a way that they were beautiful to look at with fine wood working details and proportions. > Tim truly helped us design and create a home that feels beautiful, functional, connected to the outdoors, unique and just what we wanted. Many thanks. A: I'm sorry I can't find it! The project was completed nearly 10 years ago, so our record of the decision is lost at this point. **Q: Love the corten siding! What gauge is it?** *(in Photo Questions)* What gauge steel are the siding panels, and how are they affixed? Are they hemmed edges? They look terrific! A: --also, the edges aren't hemmed. The corner is a lightweight 3x3 steel angle. **Q: Siding -** *(in Photo Questions)* Nice and distinctive home! Is that corten steel panel siding? Did you treat it in anyway? What did you use for the trim? A: It is Corten or 'weathering steel'. it doesn't have any other treatment.
