> We had a fantastic time working with Leslie for a time-sensitive project for our local business. She was wonderful to work with and was always looking out for our bottom line. I strongly recommend Leslie!!

> Leslie was amazing to work with. She truly spent the time to understand our goals and the feel we were trying to create. She delivered and then some. Amazing talent, superior service and VERY budget concious. We are already repeat customers. Can't wait for our next project!

> Leslie worked with me to update my living room. She was able, with my limited budget to develop a design which included some of my ideas while bringing her professional skills to create a fresh new look. She spent time researching the best pieces for the money and shopping with me as well.
> I was very pleased with the results and would work with her again.

> I was in need of some recommendations for the house we were purchasing. I googled to find a designer in my area and was so fortunate to find Leslie Hildebrand Interiors in my search. I was drawn to her website because first she was local but more important, I felt her website and designs spoke to me. I also really appreciated her pricing was up front and in the open. No hidden fees or tricks into luring you before hitting you with the prices. I really appreciated the packages of designs available.
>
> I left a message and Leslie called back right away. Very professional, in my opinion. We spoke briefly and set up and appointment. Even on the phone she recommended what would suit me in terms of using her with my needs. She worked with me and met with me at several locations. It was basic design stuff but I'm happy with the recommendations she made for me. She always followed up and I love the design package she put together.

> When I win the lottery, Leslie will be my designer for my dream home. Very, very happy with working with her.

> We were blessed to find Leslie Hidebrand while building our home at the beach. She helped us find a style that fit both my husband and I (not an easy task) and help navigate us when we couldn't agree (which was often). She was a rolodex of everything from furniture, decor, paint colors, lighting, and even construction installers. You name it, she can find it. We are confident that we would not have such a beautiful home without the guidance she provided. We appreciated her help staying within our budget and the personal care she brought to our project.

> Leslie has helped us on numerous projects for our home from master bedroom to nursery to basement. She has an amazing eye for detail and is very creative. Leslie always comes up with solutions and ideas that I never would have thought of, and everything ends up looking magazine worthy! She's also very friendly and easy to work with. We highly recommend her!

> Leslie helped me redo my two boys bedrooms. She was professional, prompt, receptive, and honest. She was able to translate my vision from an idea into a reality. A pleasure to work with!

> What an incredible experience we've had working with Leslie. She brings great energy and creativity to her work - and really listened to what we were trying to accomplish with our design. She also researched several price point options, so we were able to get the look we wanted without always having to spend top dollar. That way, we could spend more on certain pieces.
>
> We loved working with her so much, that when we moved recently to California, we asked her to work with us again - remotely. And, she's done a fabulous job working at a distance with us as well.
>
> We'd highly recommend her, and will continue to use her again in the future.

> Leslie does great work. She listens and works with her clients so that the design is something they will love. She also is very fair with her pricing. She is creative enough to make beauty with whatever level of means are available. I would highly recommend giving her a call.

> Last year my wife and I went through the daunting task of building our own house through a custom design builder. We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into at the time. Luckily we found Leslie to help us out with the process. Our house turned out beautifully, better than we imagined. And we can truly say that we owe it all to Leslie’s help.
>
> During the build process, there were a vast amount of decisions and selections we had to make in regard to the design of the house, and Leslie was there every step of the process. She listened to our preference and made sure that the final product speaks true to who we are, and not just something you find in a magazine (although it did turn out that way too). Her suggestions are based on sound design principle and her knowledge of the interior design brings tremendous value to her customer. We not only used her for our design process, we ended up coming to her to help furnish the house as well.
>
> But the thing I most appreciate about Leslie is her patience and commitment to her customer. She was very out-going and easy to work with, and dare I say, almost made this process enjoyable.
>
> We highly recommended Leslie for anyone out there that is looking for a great designer. Our house is beautiful and we cannot thank her enough for it. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to know more about our experience working with Leslie.

> Leslie was fabulous!!! Our highest recommendations!!! She was willing to work with us in whatever capacity needed- meeting us in stores, coming out to the house on our schedule, providing extra services, and being great fun (humorous with lots of energy). Leslie even completed the project as a surprise for my wife while we were out of town. Her sense of style is not locked on her own thoughts, rather she effortlessly assesses and finds the right matches (themes, items, and concepts). You can do no better than to work with Leslie.

> Leslie helped us divert diasaster not once, not twice, not three - but FOUR times. First, she helped us with the color of the exterior of our home. Then when my husband build a big pergola off the deck, Leslie corrected the awful mistake I was about to make by telling us exactly what to paint the columns and beams. Thank goodness we asked her! Then I asked for Leslie's help in choosing wall colors for our loft condo. It looks fabulous! Lastly, Leslie helped me with a completely new color scheme for our suburban home. Gone are the gold walls and oak. The family room and kitchen now look fresh and contemporary with greys and whites. We LOVE it and so does everyone else who comes to our home. We paint NOTHING without asking Leslie. Her services are very reasonable. She is efficient and personable. I recommend her design services without reservation!

## Community Q&A

**Q: Black color** *(in Design Dilemma)*

What is a great black color to paint my doors

A: Black Jack from Benjamin Moore

**Q: the tile on the wall is beautiful. What is the name of it?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Hi - yes it's lovely and even more stunning in person! It's White Rivershell Oval Mosaic by Artistic Tile.

**Q: Wall paint color?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you please tell me the brand and name of the paint color on the walls?

A: Yes, Benjamin Moore - Grant Beige, HC 83. It's great stone-beige/gray and changes as the light of the day moves. One of my fav's.

**Q: Just wondering where I could purchase this mirror** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: This quatre foil mirror is from Restoration Hardware. It's just fantastic!

**Q: Need Help in Study!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We recently moved and need help! I have never decorated a home and do not know where to begin! I am more traditional but love the Shabby Chic look. I have 1 year old twins, a 10 Year Old, A Husband, A Dog and very busy life. I want a home that looks comfortable and inviting, but stylish. Thinking Pottery Barn or Ethan Allen, but plan to purchase items from more eccletic local shops. Thank you

A: Well just as a basic layout - here's a start - I'd use your back "focal" wall (the one with a canvas hanging on it now) and I'd begin to create a nice vignette that would have your 2 bookshelves flanking either side of a painted desk. I'd also hang a great piece of art (or mirror maybe) over the desk. Find a statement chair for the desk (or a great vintage french chair you could slipcover or upholster or even paint)

I would also make sure your bookshelves are full height in the space so they don't look puny! Then I would float your 2-3 slipcovered shabby chic club chairs in the center on an area rug with a great round ottoman in the center of them. I'd hang another larger piece of art (or large french leaner mirror) on the left wall (where your black bar is hovering near). Find some wonderful gauzy sheer linen or other fabric for your window treatments to keep things in that Shabby Chic breezy vibe! Depending on the colours of choice - find a great neutral for your walls (gray leaning, Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter, warmer leaning Natural Linen or Grant Beige or Pratt and Lambert Feather Gray (great with linen) ) all are very light and airy.

I hope this is a good start to your inspiration for your new decorating project! Have fun with it and enjoy your hunt for some wonderful things :)

**Q: Design and paint delemma** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Need more counter space but hard to figure out how to design a new layout! Want to find the perfect color to go with rest of house but most of all cabinets!

A: Here are a couple of colours to check out. Whenever you're given paint suggestions, always go and get a sample so you can paint a swatch and check it out in the different lighting in your space (morning, night etc..) This will help you choose! Ok - here are my thoughts.
I would paint the whole kitchen area in a neutral that's warm but with undertones that work well with your wood cabinets:
Benjamin Moore - Bennington Gray, Brandon Beige, Grant Beige. Each of them have a slight difference. They are less yellow than your existing cream on the walls and I think they'll bring out the warmth in your cabinets a bit better for you!

I'd also consider painting our your island. There's alot of brown going on there and it would be nice to break it up. It's not hard to do - a good sanding, great primer and then a few coats of great paint. Talk to the guys at the paint store and they'll hook you up with the right product :) I'd be tempted to pull in your blue there. Light or dark, check out blue islands on Houzz for some inspiration, just don't go bright blue :)

I'd also change out your curtain treatment over the sink for something cleaner - like a roman shade. Also well as a dark rod and panels on each side of your patio doors. Hang your rod about 1" down from the ceiling and plan for drapes to brush the floor. I would also change out your island light for something that's glass. It not only gives some reflective quality but also allows your eyes to go straight through the space visually - making it feel just a little bit bigger :) I would make it a fairly good size pendant - maybe a cool lantern style or large glass orb.

And lastly - you need some island stools! I would stick with some that are backless so it keeps things looking clean and open. Find something interesting that represents who you are - there are a million options!

I hope this helps you as you're gathering ideas for your space! :)
