Sarah Townson graduated with Honours in Interior Design at Humber College in 2005, followed by five years at one of Toronto's most celebrated interior design firms. In late 2010, she moved to freelance production design at artform\* on Queen West, developing sets featured on CBC and CTV television, and soon established a sole proprietorship called Brick Row to focus on residential and boutique hospitality projects. In 2017, Brick Row joined forces with INTOR Construction to form DXT Studio, a full-service interior design firm for residential and commercial clients in the Toronto area.

## Community Q&A

**Q: IKEA Haggeby Sektion Kitchen Cabinets** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hello! I love the simplicity of these cabinets, but as they are the 'lowest end' I'm a little hesitant... Does anyone out there in Houzz Land have any experience with these? Please share! Thank you so much!

A: Frequent IKEA kitchen designer here - both of these styles are great, but Veddinge is a painted finish rather than a laminated front. TBH I've had issues with the painted fronts (the Veddinge-equivalent from the Akurum series that preceded Sektion) from water dripping down the face, so I'm not sure the extra cost is worth upgrading from Haggeby. I just wanted to jump in to mention that Veddinge has a definite pink undertone that's noticeable when paired with other whites, or with cooler materials like Carrara marble. In my opinion, the Haggeby is easier to work with because it's more of the standard "IKEA white". For those living in reasonable proximity to an IKEA store, I would recommend purchasing one small drawer front in each finish you're considering and bringing them home before making a final decision!
