A: The light fixtures are from Tech Lighting. This project was completed back in 2006. So I’m not sure if that particular glass shade is available still, but they have many to chose from. Anywhere I could get more information on this. Would be beautiful in my kitchen. A: Hello fastback 409, This particular glass slab counter is from Pental Marble and Tile in Seattle. It is called "Pental Glass2" color: Aquamarine. Last I heard Pental is no longer carrying this product, although they may have some left. I would suggest calling Pental at (206) 768-1278 or go to their website http://www.pentalonline.com.  I'm thinking maybe they have access to still get it or maybe you can ask them for the information on where you could purchase it in your area. Good luck! Connie Wyland, Wyland Interior Design Center **Q: Flooring advice for main floor** *(in Design Dilemma)* Open concept main floor with 7" hardwood throughout. With powder room visible from kitchen and great room I would prefer to have a tile for powder room but not sure if I should be concerned with transitioning to a different flooring (powder room is only 6x5 sq ft). If I transition to tile any suggestions on size of tile? A: As a professional interior design, I always tell my clients that real hardwood flooring is typically not warranted to go into bathroom areas. However, many builder's install them into the powder room areas to save money. I always ask, "Are you prepared to clean up any "Miss the Bowl" accidents quickly?" Hardwood is very porous and liquids can seep into the wood causing discoloration and can hold onto terrible smells, if you know what I mean? There are plenty other products on the market, if you are looking for a wood look that are waterproof sort of speak. There are many LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tiles) in wood planks and porcelain wood plank tile looks to choose from. It is almost impossible too match the color and look of existing hardwood floors with these products. It is best to select a look and color that compliments rather than matching. In terms of going with something like ceramic, porcelain or stone tiles, I have no problems with using a different flooring in bathrooms from main areas. It is a whole different room, it brings interest, as long as you keep the colors coordinating with adjacent rooms and preferable the rest of the house for continuity. A 5x6 bathroom can support using, most sizes of tile 6x6, 8x8, 12x12, 13x13, 12x24 size tiles. There are plenty of mosaic sheets that are small like 1x1, 2x2, 3x3 or even subway sizes. PLEASE NOTE: Make sure they are rated as FLOOR tiles and not walls tiles or they will break. In terms of transitions from wood to tiles, you can build up underneath the tile so it is the same level as the wood height. I like to use Schulter Stripping in between. You can also find a reducer strip or T-molding too match the wood species and color that transitions down if it ends up being a different height. **Q: what is the name of the granite and are the cabinets white or cream?** *(in Photo Questions)* A: DeWil’s Custom Cabinetry, in their Heirloom White \# 107. Which similar to an Antique Linen color with a caramel glaze over top. This particular granite was from Cosmos Granite and Marble called Golden Bordeaux. The slabs we found were lighter than some Golden Bordeaux slabs. There is another one that is similar called Golden Flower, which has more yellows in it that is pretty also. **Q: Stain color and species** *(in Photo Questions)* What is the wood and stain color for these cabinets. A: Hello bruce 2782, The cabinets are from DeWil's Custom Cabinetry. We went with two different woods and stain colors. The tall brown cabinets are Cherry wood with their Stain option 111 Cherry. The island and wet bar pass-through area is Alder wood with 108 Grape stain. Alder is considered the poor man's cherry wood. They are very similar grains with cherry having more dimensional look to the wood. We decided to switch to the the Alder wood due to the 108 grape stain looks slightly more brown and less purple than what it looked like on the cherry wood. --- *Source: Houzz professional profile.
