We paid $250 for what we were told numerous times would be a kitchen ‘design.’ What we received is nothing more than a quote for cabinetry (we never even saw or selected cabinetry) and a very brief recap of our consultation. When I received this quote email, I asked for the preliminary floor plan she states she did, assuming she must have forgotten to attach it. She curtly replied with ‘No, I believe that I explained it would only be a quote. That is why I gave you an explanation.’ At no point were we told we were paying $250 for a quote for cabinetry. My husband and I both had the same takeaway after meeting with her, and the expectation was set by her that we would receive a rough draft floor plan of a kitchen remodel, and a 3D floor plan once we decided to move forward. Additionally, the turnaround time for this was just shy of two weeks, when we were told one week. When I told her we would not be paying $2000 blindly without seeing any design, rather than send me the design or even offer to meet me somewhere to review it together in person, her ‘solution’ was to offer me to walk through her former client’s homes to see how satisfied they are. To recap, we were clear we were looking for a full kitchen design and instead we received a quote for cabinets (unsure of what kind, as I never selected anything) that we were expected to pay for, sight unseen. A: hi, it wasn't a custom color.. it was a color the cabinet company had. it does have a glaze on it too. **Q: Before and After - Kitchen** *(in Remodeling)* Just sharing our recently completed new kitchen. We moved in about over 3 years ago - inheriting the following kitchen. We made some upgrades in the kitchen while we finalized our design. First came paint, reworking some of the wall heights, and replacing all the appliances. Then we covered the laminate with upgraded laminate - couldn't get rid of that orange soon enough and upgraded the floors. Finally we gutted the kitchen the day after Thanksgiving 2019 - New Cabinets, Counters, Backsplash and layout.
