> I love using Delton Cabinets in almost all of my projects because the quality of their custom work is unmatched. My most recent project that I used them for was the Bayley house here in Edmonton. It was a custom cherry contemporary kitchen that we renovated from the ground up. There were plenty of specialized inserts for the family and their needs, and Delton was able to accommodate all of the specifics of my design into their cabinetry work to make it flow correctly. Ray, who is the resident chef of the house needed this kitchen to work for him and was thrilled with his rolling island.

> Very impressed with the level of service, craftsmanship and professionalism I received! The price was very competitve but the service from the showroom staff was the main reason we choose Delton. We shopped around and received horrible service from another big name. Thank you for my amazing kitchen and bathroom!! Very excited to show it off at Christmas!!!

> I am completely impressed with this company! Specifically, I bought all the cabinetry for 2 kitchens from Delton's Cupboards Express line for a rental duplex that I bought and renovated.
>
> Being relatively new to renovations, I was a little daunted at first, seeing as I had not purchased or installed kitchen cabinetry before. Not only did the kitchens turn out beautifully, but Delton gave me excellent service, tips and ideas for my project. Never once did I feel rushed or like a "lower-end" DIY customer.
>
> Tremendous value for the money, and, being entirely based in Edmonton, the benefits of buying here extend to the local economy. Everyone wins! I would, and I do, totally recommend Delton and Cupboards Express to anyone looking to do or re-do their kitchen.

> I am a Designer that was hired to consult on the new construction of a fifteen unit condominium project.
> Delton Cabinets was chosen and contracted to supply and install the kitchen cabinets. I personally consulted with their designer and found that they were very dedicated to accommodating every aspect of our requests. All our many questions were respectfully answered. They were extremely professional from the start to the final stage of installation! In addition, their price point was excellent. We were extremely pleased with the unique kitchens.....especially the new owners!
> I would highly recommend, without hesitation, to work with Delton Cabinets!

> Delton Cabinets did a wonderful job in advising, planning and installing cabinets in our kitchen and bath. Being a seniors and living a a more remote area they they were so good at coming out more then once to answer questions and help us to rethink areas we were not sure about.
>
> We highly recommend them and would not hesitate to use them in
> the future.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Ideas for minor kitchen update to large gourmet kitchen...** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I need help with how to update my kitchen. I love the space, but the house is ten years old and I need to refinish the floors and probably the cabinets. It got me thinking that the kitchen is a little tired and needs a minor update. The cabinets are solid alder, but I've considered painting them cream, carmel or white. How would that look with the granite? I also thought about going to a dark stain for the cabinets. . I'd like to do the floors a dark walnut, though, and that is maybe too much dark wood. I have always disliked the granite, but don't know if I can replace it. I want tile back splashes to coordinate with a solid material countertop. If I have dark cabinets, I want a light countertop and visa versa. Could I just replace the backslashes? I plan to add pendant lights. The range top and all appliances are good, but the microwave is too high. I want to add a farm sink, maybe in copper, glass fronts to the cabinets on either side of the range, and a second dishwasher. I'd like a different range hood-something custom, maybe copper? And I'd like space for 8 burners instead of the current 6, but now I'm getting into more than an update because cabinets around the range would need removal and remodeling. I think I need to ditch the stuff above the cabinets on the soffit, but should it be bare? I love my Italian ceramic dishes, but don't know how to incorprate them into a new design.

All ideas and suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Anna

A: You might also consider closing in the gap above your cabinets... perhaps a bulkhead that comes out the depth of your cabinets with some recessed lighting... this would definitely update the space.

**Q: Are the cabinets with the glass panels actually 2 cabinets?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Single cabinets with divided doors or two cabinets stacked?

A: The cabinets in the picture you provided appear to be one cabinet but with separate doors to each area. This look can be duplicated a couple of other ways as well. You can modify the doors to be solid on the bottom with a glass panel on top... all as one door. Or you can take two separate cabinets and stack one on top of another. I would recommend going the later options since oversized doors are more prone to warping etc.

**Q: Spice Cabinet** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you tell me who manufactures this cabinet?

A: Most cabinet suppliers should offer some sort of spice rack for upper cabinets. If not they should be able to source one out from their suppliers for you. This is a common accessory.

**Q: Crown moulding** *(in Polls)*

I am installing crown moulding through out my home, I have open space concept entrance to the kitchen. My kitchen cupboards are maple and already have 4 inch crown moulding on them. The cupboards are about 12inches from the ceiling, should I continue with the crown moulding on the kitchen ceiling.

A: Yes, by continuing the moulding around the corner and above your cabinets you will be unifying your space. The moulding on that corner will be less of a focal point bringing the focus back to your beautiful maple cabinets.

**Q: MW/speed oven too high?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

My MW/ Speed oven will have a pull down door I think this will be too high (risk of burn while reaching in). It meas 54" from floor to bottom of oven. Should I move it next to refrigerator, lower it, have cabinet above it and all drawers below it (1 continuos cabinet with no countertop)?

A: I understand your concern if the door folds down instead of sideways. Have you considered putting it in a base cabinet towards the top? Open area for your mw/oven on top with maybe a big pot & pan drawer below?

**Q: What to do with kitchen** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Help with kitchen

A: Consider adding some cabinet pulls, a backsplash and crown moulding. Another way to make some visual impact would be to do something on the front of your stub wall on your island. Finished panels, tile or even splash of bold colored paint would make all the difference!
