Connecting with Modernscapes SF has truly taken my business to the next level. > > Their work is of the highest quality, they pay attention to the small details in my designs. Charles the owner is responsive and thorough regarding communication, and has a high degree of respect for the role of the designer in bringing a project to completion successfully. His experience and integrity shines through during all phases of the bidding and construction process. > > I simply cannot recommend Charles and the team at Modernscapes SF highly enough and they will be my preferred landscape contractor for the foreseeable future. **★★★★★ — Darren Beurer, Nov. 2014** > We have been following Charles Smith's landscape designs for 10+ years. Modernscapes SF landscape designs speak for themselves. His ability to creatively problem solve as a plan evolves and grows in scope truly shows his experience and flexibility even when budget limits are a consideration. His understanding of "what works" when the installation had challenging climatic conditions saved us from having to redo work. He's such a pleasure to work with even when we couldn't make up our own minds! If experience, attention to details and passionate craftsmanship speak to you. When we checked their references they were spot on. ## Selected projects - [Mountain View modern](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/mountain-view-modern-pj-vj~770938) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 3 - [Bernal Heights contemporary](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/bernal-heights-contemporary-pj-vj~770935) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 2 - [Redwood City modern](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/redwood-city-modern-pj-vj~770899) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 5 - [Balboa Park contemporary](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/balboa-park-contemporary-pj-vj~770933) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 2 - [Danville modern contemporary](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/danville-modern-contemporary-pj-vj~770919) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 5 - [Upper Market contemporary californian](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/upper-market-contemporary-californian-pj-vj~770941) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 3 - [Ross modern](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/ross-modern-pj-vj~770892) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 2 - [Upper market contemporary patio](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/upper-market-contemporary-patio-pj-vj~770930) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 3 - [Noe Valley contemporary](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/noe-valley-contemporary-pj-vj~770931) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 2 - [Cole Valley modern art](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/cole-valley-modern-art-pj-vj~770948) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 1 - [Woodside stream and pond](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/woodside-stream-and-pond-pj-vj~770947) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 1 - [Bernal Heights contemporary multi level](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/bernal-heights-contemporary-multi-level-pj-vj~770946) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 1 - [Stanford koi pond and waterfall](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/stanford-koi-pond-and-waterfall-pj-vj~770944) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 1 - [Menlo Park koi pond and waterfall](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/menlo-park-koi-pond-and-waterfall-pj-vj~770943) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 1 - [Alamo Square contemporary](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/alamo-square-contemporary-pj-vj~770942) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 3 - [Tiburon hills contemporary](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/tiburon-hills-contemporary-pj-vj~770940) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 1 - [Stanford contemporary](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/stanford-contemporary-pj-vj~770937) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 1 - [Merced Heights contemporary](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/merced-heights-contemporary-pj-vj~770936) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 1 - [Cole Valley contemporary](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/cole-valley-contemporary-pj-vj~770907) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 6 - [Potrero Hill modern entertainers](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/potrero-hill-modern-entertainers-pj-vj~770932) - Location: Not specified - Photos: 8 [See all 53 projects](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/landscape-contractors/modernscapes-sf-pfvwus-pf~311224606) ## Community Q&A **Q: Wood** *(in Photo Questions)* Hi, what wood was used for the fence?
