> We contacted KC Home Solutions to help design a total interior remodel of our Florida vacation home. Even though they don't physically do work in Florida they were willing to help with the design. Nick and Sarah were awesome to work with. They were both very professional and patient and really listened to our wants and needs. We were able to work remotely with them to come up with a design that we totally love. We can't thank them enough and would absolutely recommend working with KC Home Solutions for your home design.

**★★★★★ — HU-88107482, Nov. 2018**

> Wow what an incredible job. Nick made the whole project easy and comfortable for me his team worked diligently to get everything put together in a timely and professional manner. He really cares about his clients and that they are well taken care of. I highly recommend this company to anyone thinking of remodeling.

**★★★★★ — agarcia64, Nov. 2018**

> Kc home solutions was the best choice we could have made when finding someone to finish our basement. From the office staff to our project manager, Jason, they were all exceptional! They were excellent with communication. Very trustworthy and great attention to detail. They were so easy to work with and will continue using them for future products. We did our homework and had an idea of what to expect as far as cost goes and they were on point. No surprises. Our bar, full bathroom and media wall are amazing. Love them and their work!

**Comment from KC Home Solutions, LLC:**

> Thank you for the kind words, it was a pleasure to work with your family. We hope you enjoy your basement for years to come!

**★★★★★ — Brett Lambert, May 2017**

> I had KC Home Solutions finish our basement with a bathroom. They completed the job on time and within budget. Their finishes look great and they came up with some great ideas around the room for a soffit and pocket door to maximize the space.

**★★★★★ — Kim Wade, Oct. 2016**

> Great work. Love the results.
>
> President is very problem solving oriented. Wants to deliver an exceptional result to the homeowner.

**★★★★★ — Michael Faltermeier, June 2016**

> Remodel of master bath and bedroom. The bathroom was taken down to the studs in the shower and tub area, plus soffit was removed. Linen closet was relocated within bathroom. Wall extension for custom vanity with tower, all new marble tiles throughout, heated floors, Bain heated bubble tub, additional lighting, heating and ventilation. A new walk in closet was added in the master bedroom, added a reading nook with 4X5 picture window, all popcorn ceilings were remove. The finished product is beautiful
> We interviewed several contractors for our remodel job. Most gave us a ball park estimate without any detail. Two gave us detailed estimates. The estimate from KC Home Solutions (KCHS) was very detail and easy to understand. Nick was very easy to work with and very patient with us as we made several changes that needed to be reflected in the estimate as our project evolved. Nick had several good ideas that we incorporated in our project. Our start date was set for two months from the time we signed the KCHS bid. We received detail drawings of our project for our review before the project started.
> The project started right on time. Jason the project manager arrived first thing in the morning on the day the project started. He discussed with us what we could expect over the next six to eight weeks. Jason is an outstanding communicator both with the customer and the workers. At each phase he met with us and the subcontractor to go over exactly what was to be done. His through communication helped assure problems were kept to a minimum. Jason made sure everything was done the way we wanted it. I’m a perfectionist but so is Jason…..He has very high work standards. His rough in carpenter Rod and Pedro did outstanding work. The sub contractors were all highly skilled and very courteous.
> Jason ran a tight schedule and something happened almost every day. The project was completed in eight week on scheduled. Jason always took care of any issues to our satisfaction.
> The quality of the work was outstanding. We used a lot of marble and polished nickel. The tile work, cabinetry, woodwork etc had perfect fit and finish. I can’t say enough about the quality of the work that was done and how great everyone was to work with during this project.

**Comment from KC Home Solutions, LLC:**

> Thank you for the review, we appreciate it. The transformation of your bathroom is one we are certainly proud of, but it's easy to do that type of work when you have a family making such great selections. We hope you all enjoy it for years to come!

**★★★★★ — Shauna Bartel, April 2016**

> A truly professional group that were fun, helpful, and considerate from start to finish. Always open to ideas and questions. Within an hour of our initial consultation Nick Vaughn was sending me Houzz pics that perfectly depicted my ideas and style! They were always available and were never going to settle for less that perfect. We would whole heartedly recommend them to anyone and everyone. Thank you KC Home Solutions for seeing our vision and making it a reality.

**★★★★★ — mwynkle, Feb. 2016**

> Nick and his staff went above and beyond to help us build our dream home!! We could not be more happier with our brand new home!!! Their idea's are so unique, and really made our house one of a kind!! From the rustic barn wood that they installed for the trim work to the hickory floors for just the right look took our breath away!! I would recommend KC Home Solutions to anyone that is looking to remodel or build a home!! Thanks again for everything!!

**★★★★ — Brad Clark, Dec. 2015**

> Let me start this by saying I would hire Nick and KC Home Solutions again.
>
> That being said I think like any construction project there are always challenges.
> We finished about 1400 sq ft of an 1800 sq ft basement so it was no tiny project. Every subcontractor or vendor KC Home Solutions use are top notch. Wood work, tile, flooring, electricians, and plumbers. Basically any trade that shows up with a real logo on their vehicle is going to produce good stuff. Where I think we ran into challenges were with drywall and painters. They are less skilled labor and more manual labor. I have checked this with other contractors... it is really hard to find a good long lasting crew for this kind of work. We felt they rushed and were a bit sloppy so extra work needed to be done to finish it right. The thing about it is that Nick and his guys they will fix any issue and make it right. One other criticism that we have is that the time management for our project seemed to be challenging and control of the timeline could have been managed better, we went about 2-3 weeks longer than we should have. As frustrating as that was, we stayed in contact with Nick and everyone involved, our got basement finished and it is amazing. I trust Nick and would have him back. We recently had to replace a kitchen faucet, and we contacted Nick so we could use the plumbers who did our basement work.
>
> Something different about our job is that I had almost 95% designed and selected prior to hiring KC Home Solutions. This included the floor plan and layout. When it was all finished it looked almost exactly like what I had spent 3 years dreaming and designing. When my family sees the completed pictures they say it perfectly matches what I had attempted to describe to them. I think this is a positive for Nick and his crew, as they listened, and were able take what I dreamed up on paper and made it a reality.
>
> Even though I brought the design to my project, I believe they have a good design aesthetic and if you don't have anything designed or you just have a general outline of what you want, this crew can give you something you never expected and you will be thoroughly happy with the finished results.
>
> I have one last tip, it is good to have ideas or general thoughts on color and such, but I recommend visiting their vendors for tile, fixtures and such to see what they have before you get yourself committed to something you saw on Houzz or at a big box store.
> KC Home Solutions uses Vendors that have quality products that you will want to use and it makes the process quicker and easier. One caveat to that, unless it truly is an inferior product (and Nick will take the time to explain why he doesn't recommend using it) they will incorporate anything you want.

**Comment from KC Home Solutions, LLC:**

> Thanks again for the review Brad. It was so much fun to be able to see all of your planning, designs and detail come to life. We're really happy that we were able to make your dream a reality, but we're most happy that your dad is doing so great now! We hope that you and your family will continue to enjoy your basement for years and years to come.

**★★★★★ — sirspamalot\_nb, Dec. 2015**

> Nick Shepard and his team have completed more than one project for me in my home. I have been completely happy with the quality and efficiency of all of the projects. Not only did Nick and his team fix my homes' problems, but improved the value of my home upon completion.
> I would choose Nick and his team for any project I need done around my home.

**★★★★★ — cadonahey, Dec. 2015**

> Kc Home Solutions installed a covered patio for us. It looks amazing! They explained the project to us in detail. They finished quickly and it looks better than we imagined!

**Comment from KC Home Solutions, LLC:**

> Thanks for the review! Exceeding expectations is one of our favorite things to do, we're really happy that you like the patio. Now we just need to get rid of this winter weather and you can start enjoying the space rather than just looking at it.

 - Description: 2016 KC NARI REMY AWARD WINNER - Silver This family wanted to open up their kitchen. It was very tight in available space throughout the preparation area. The island wasn't being used for anything more than a place to have items sit on top of. The existing pantry was not much more than a converted closet off of the laundry room. The 1/2 bath off the kitchen was being underutilized as well. The kitchen was shut off from the entertainment area. We removed the 1/2 bath completely and built out from…

## Community Q&A

**Q: Coretec ...is this vinyl? What is the color called?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Elle, thank you for the question. COREtec is a vinyl plank flooring made by USFloors. The flooring selection was their Dakota Walnut 5 inch width option.

**Q: Coretec color** *(in Photo Questions)*

Which Coretec style and color was used for the bathroom?

A: Tracy, the bathroom is actually a porcelain tile rather than COREtec. Thanks for the question!

**Q: Wall color** *(in Photo Questions)*

What is this wall color?

A: Steff,
The color we used was, Benjamin Moore - Revere Pewter. Thanks for the question.

**Q: What is the paint color used on the cabinets? Thanks!** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Sarah - The paint color was a custom blend and glaze. That said, it is based off of "Lamp Room Gray" by Farrow & Ball. Hope that helps!

**Q: Core-tec** *(in Photo Questions)*

Which color Core-Tec did you use for this basement?

A: The COREtec color in this basement is Muir Oak.

**Q: Is the island flat or two levels?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Is this island flat or two levels? I have a similar shape and want to change mine from two levels to one.

A: It was originally two levels, we changed it to one as you see it the picture you commented on. The picture below is the island and kitchen before we started the project.
