I wish the same could be said for his subcontractors. The Granite countertops were badly installed and efforts to correct were futile. Also, I was dismayed to find plastic piping was used when the house had ALL copper previously. installed. Mr Duke tried to help in correcting this but to no avail. We all work very hard every day. The subcontractors in question are 2 separate subcontractors. First, let's speak to the plumbing. It has become standard practice for us to use PEX piping to perform any new water lines, and schedule 40 PVC for waste lines. The customer was out of town when we did this portion of the kitchen renovation. He expressed dismay at the use of material. I was a bit surprised, and offered to redo, but he said it was okay, but not how he would have done it. We moved on. Then, at the end, a flaw in the granite was pointed out. I honestly hadn't noticed, and on some level may never have, but the company that installed them returned and 3 guys spent a half day honing the area in question. I thought it had been resolved, but still must leave a bad taste, which I'm sorry is lingering. I recently called to check and make sure everything was holding up, and was told everything was fine. Again, we try very hard, and would never leave an unsatisfactory job uncorrected. I'll reach out to see if there's still a problem, or if this is just being upset over the process. Butch and his crew turned our 640 sq foot "cabin" into an amazing 1,030 sq foot perfect weekend getaway. From start to finish they were respectful, helpful & very honest. He was always available to discuss progress, timelines & materials as needed and make changes when necessary. Very impressed how seamlessly they made the new & old house come together. There was a brick chimney on our roof that has been slowly leaning over the years and a leak formed at the base where the flashing meets the shingles. We attempted repairs many times but the leak always came back and got worse as time went by. Duke brought a team of professionals together that removed the chimney (our fireplace has ventless logs and does not require a flue), sheathed roof where the chimney originally sat, added sister joists to the roofing joists to ensure there structural integrity and integrated roofing shingles to finish the job. The team did a professional job in a reasonable time, including the clean up. The leak is repaired and the roof looks great. I feel we received a good value for our $$$ and would use Duke for projects in the future. > > By the way, this is the 2nd project we hired Duke for.
