> My wife & I were going to remodel our home several years ago & interviewed Scott for the job.  We didn't go through with the remodel at the time due to financial reasons, but we were so impressed with him, we kept his contact info for "some day."

> We recently inherited a property & needed someone to renovate it in order to rent out.  The property needed quite a bit of work, so we called Scott after many years from the first time we met & he came over to look over the project.  He's very easy to work with & isn't even remotely high pressure trying to upsell you on work.

> His estimate came in lower than we were thinking, so we proceeded with the renovation.  The end cost came in a little higher as they always do in a remodeling situation with unforeseen situations, but most of the increase were stuff my wife & I changed to increase the value of the property to rent out. ## Community Q&A

**Q: How wide and deep is the toilet nook?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I'm wondering how wide we need to make our toilet area.  Is 32" too narrow?

A: Hi Suzanne, thanks for asking. For most people, 36” is minimum. I wouldn’t recommend going any smaller than that.

**Q: Entryway nook** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Straight on from our entry is a nook that is wrapped by the stairs. We are struggling with how to use it/make it look nice. The dimensions are 43" deep and 50" wide - awkwardly square-like. 

Any suggestions on how to use this space/how to stage it?

A: I would make the space as useful as possible. When you walk in the door you usually have things in your hand, keys, packages, etc. Having a counter height place to set them makes great use of the space. A drawer for keys and mail helps organize. If you don’t wear shoes in your house, a shoe closet below offers a good way to keep clutter down. Then use the wall space above for pictures, mirrors or other miscellaneous design items.
