On the contrary, it is rather customized and craft based on current landscape. My backyard is a typical hillside and the previous owner had done limited terracing work in the yard. But, the access to backyard is still pretty difficult, especially during the raining day. When we first contacted Amado, he came out to the site twice (by himself and with his foreman) to understand our needs and provide his suggestion/planning. Overall, the result of this serpentine style deck/stair walkway really shows their workmanship on planning/creating the hillside walkway. I am totally in love with their work. The crew is great -- super attentive to my requests; attention to detail from foundation laying to deck/stair building... It took about 3 weeks to complete this project. Definitely, worth of the wait ! We had some city rules surrounding building near a creek, as well as funky boundary line issues, and also needed both a privacy fence and trellis on one side, but a wood and hog wire fence on the other that could be seen through. We also needed a gate that our dog couldn't see through and which could be opened by both sides for vehicles to get through when needed. So: we had a range of specifics that needed to be accommodated and Armado's team did so with ease and creativity. The quality of all that was built is outstanding: couldn't be better. The pricing was fair, the team left the yard entirely cleaned up, and all our needs were met. On Saturday, I went to help an elderly woman try to make a dent a forest of blackberry bushes. I also called Sunny Seattle, Amado Chacon, whom I had never met before to give an estimate. Mr. Chacon saw the mountain of thorns and you could see from his face that he was just shocked by the immense growth. All I could think of was the $6,000 price tag of other quotes. I was fearful of the same. I explained that the woman was on a tight budget and what we were trying to accomplish. You could see that Mr. Chacon had compassion for her and he said he would do it pro bono. I was overwhelmed by his generosity. The next morning, Sunday, he had a crew of 7 men at her door and they worked from 9am until 5pm. Attached are the before and after pictures. We couldn't even see the fence before. Now there is an actual yard. The guys leveled my yard which was an enormous task. Then they landscaped beautifully with bark and small rocks. Everything they did was perfect. I was completely blown away. Thankfully the other projects they had lined up were delayed due to permits and they were able to start earlier. The wall for the fire pit was constructed per our design and the lawn was cleared and graded. Top soil was then spread to get ready for grass seed. The 6' fence was installed and had to be re-hung due to initial installation. This was corrected within a day and didn't impact the schedule. The gates are constructed of metal frame instead of wood alone which makes them much more sturdy. The back gate was at an angle but they were able to add some extra framing to make it blend into the rest of the fence on the outside. The owner made some recommendations for other areas of the yard which we may do at a future date. With the growth and increasing traffic in this rural area, we wanted more privacy for our large yard and property. Amado's crew showed up on the date specified and on time, reviewed the specs for the gate on our property, and went out and bought the materials. They returned several hours later, and finished the large (12+ foot) gate on the same day (Saturday).
