We've gone with white trim in the rest of the house and now I am determining whether I should paint the dark wood crown mouldings and door white to go with the trim or leave them as is? The dark wood moulding is in the entry and the adjoining living room / study area, as well as on the coffered ceiling in the adjoining dining room, so assume would need to paint them all to make it cohesive. Looking from dining room to front door and living room. Looking from dining room towards the stairs. Door on immediate right is kitchen. The coffered ceiling. We have replaced these chairs and have gray linen Parsons chair now (6 of them). Thoughts? Thanks in advance! I can help to hang your art safely. 6472188146. **Q: Neglected dining room needs Houzz love** *(in Design Dilemma)* I've had great success redesigning my living room with the help of talented Houzzers and I'm hoping you can help me do the same for my dining room. The room is small and poses a functional challenge with it being a high-traffic area. We've recently added a new deck so this outside door now gets used a lot. The door hits a chair when open and you have to walk around the table to get to the kitchen or living room. I think I have a solution to this layout issue, but wanted input before making too many changes. Design-wise I want to make a whole lot of changes! Changing: xmas lights/light fixture table and chairs removing greek pedestals (stacked in corner) removing floating shelves window treatment paint, if needed Not changing: antique chest of drawers blue storage locker artwork (need to reposition, but want to keep in room) Here is a floor plan for the room.
