The most difficult first step is convincing yourself that the old place that has been home for 38 years had seen its best days . I would not part with the view I had grown to love since I first moved in , so relocation was not an option . > > Every evening I came home from work and watched a new house across the street being built . I went into the new build occasionally to see what was going on inside . The site was neat and clean and building debris was kept to a minimum . I noticed the Sturdy , straight wood work . > I also notice that every midday and evening the contractor was there to inspect the work . I noticed the meticulous framing and concrete work that was being done and decided to approach the architect , Clement Foss to design for me a home with the idea of having Sterling Ridge Properties build my new home . > Sterling ridge is owned by Dominick and Laura Scarpinato . They meshed well with the architectural firm of Clement Foss . We proceeded with the building plans and within a few months we were having the old house demolished ………… I couldn’t watch . In one day it was gone and scooped up . > Sterling Ridge took over from there . We had weekly meetings to keep me and Amy appraised of the subcontractor schedule and the utilization of the agreed upon allowances for the building . > > From “building” start it took approximately 18 months to erect the home . Sterling Ridge brought in specialists to put in the 70 pilings under the foundation . Concrete specialists from New York were brought in to oversee the pouring and curing of the concrete into the foundation and then many times more to encase the tons of steel that went into the first and second floors . The house is concrete and steel from the ground to the roof . > > The windows were another specialist challenge . The eight seamless main living room windows weighed 850 pounds each and were poured in China . I watched the installation of the windows and I can say that was an engineering masterpiece . All the windows are 145 MPH missile proof since the house is open to the water . The master plan from Clement Foss was masterfully executed by Sterling Ridge and orchestrated in person by Dominick Scarpinato . > > I could go into greater detail about how difficult this construction was , but in conclusion Sterling Ridge delivered the exact home we specified . Things happen during construction that can often make a customer unhappy or very frustrated. WELL....I am VERY HAPPY with this company. I had Sterling Ridge knock down and rebuild a large custom home several years ago and was extremely happy with the quality of the work and the kindness, honesty and excellence of Dominick Scarpinato. More recently we hired Sterling Ridge to handle a complicated office addition/renovation for a 9000 square foot property. Once again, the work was excellent and I am even more convinced that Dominick Scarpinato and Sterling Ridge are the best builders in Tampa. Lots of contractors make promises but few keep them. This company will not disappoint you. They will complete your project as promised and you will love the quality. And, if for some reason something goes wrong Dominick Scarpinato will make it right. That is the way he does business. I give this company my highest recommendation.
