### Reviews

**★★★★★ — John Jacobson, Nov. 2018**

> A close friend who used PDB for a major remodel highly recommended David & PDB because of the excellent results and experience throughout their project. With that in mind, we chose the PBD team to build our new home. Choosing PDB was one of the best decisions my wife & I have made. The comfort is unbelievable! The out side temp dropped to almost 0'F last night & we hardly used our heat. The quality of workmanship and keeping the job clean during construction exceeded my expectations. Working with David & having complete control over all finishes & fixtures, as well as having our project manager on site at all times was very reassuring. Our home was in good hands from start to finish. We love our new home & are confident that we made the correct decision in working with Prairie Design Build.

**★★★★★ — Russ McElliott, Nov. 2018**

> I used Prairie Design Build to remodel my Lower level, Kitchen and Great room. Not only did they do outstanding work they Finished on time and in budget !!! I would highly recommended Prairie Design Build !!!!

**★★★★★ — FORWARD Design \| Architecture, Nov. 2018**

> I worked with David and his team on a Master Suite Remodel. They were on schedule and budget. Coordination and communication were great. I am sure we will work together again.

**★★★★★ — Raynor Garage Doors of Kansas City, Nov. 2018**

> We have worked with Prairie Design Build for many years. Quality, craftsmanship, and unique projects every time! We look forward to working with the PDB team on all of their projects!

**★★★★★ — Studio Sosinski Interiors, Nov. 2018**

> David and his team at Prairie Design Build are top notch across the board. David hires well-trained, highly-experienced professionals to run all aspects of his business (includes the tradespeople subcontracted), and it shows through the project management and quality of work. Every person we worked with was a pleasure. But probably most importantly, their work was on budget and on time. Even at the outset, the bidding was detailed and transparent, which could not be said for the other contractor bids. No doubt we would hire them again in the future!

**★★★★★ — David Broderick, Nov. 2018**

> As an electrical contractor I have worked with Dave and his company for over 15 years and they are a builder who is consistent and dedicated to their customers. The main reason I like working with them is they have sophisticated projects that allows my company to keep things interesting.

**★★★★★ — Keith Oberhelman, Nov. 2018**

> Hi,
> My name is Keith Oberhelman with Henges Insulation.
> I have worked with Prairie Design Build for many years. If all of my builders were as detail oriented and thorough as PDB, my life would be very easy. While we always insulate our homes to maximize efficiency, Prairie Design takes it to the next level. Energy efficiency is a priority for them and each home or high end remodel they do is completed down to the detail.
> I know they have been recognized by several organizations for the energy efficiency structures and I am proud to say our company has been a part of every one.
> From the management to the people out in the field for PDB, I have learned a lot from them and I have been in the insulation business for 25 years.
> It is a pleasure working with all of them.

**★★★★★ — herron + partners, Nov. 2018**

> Do you want to build a high performance home or passive house? Then Prairie Design Build is your best option. Higher performing homes require a different type of construction knowledge and detailing in order to execute them properly. It is NOT conventional construction. PDB is the local leader when it comes to sustainability and performance. I can highly recommend David and David for your project.

**★★★★★ — Pat Higgins, Nov. 2018**

> Solid company and a lead supervisor onsite determined to make sure customer expectations are being met. If you need a new home built or just need to add an addition for your growing family, David Schleicher and his team at Prairie design Build, can make it happen.

**★★★★★ — Bruce Chyka, Nov. 2018**

> I provided Energy Star Rated services to this builder. They are one of the leading sustainable builders in the KC Metro area.

**★★★★★ — HU-892591980, Nov. 2018**

> Prairie design is bringing superior products and practices to our market with an emphasis on sustainablity, efficiency and durability. They truly want to produce a better product and customer experience. The repeat business the do with their clients reenforces the value of their philosphy. I believe their ethics and vision will result in a bright future for home building.

**★★★★ — JUSTINE SAULTZ, Nov. 2018**

> We chose PBD to take on a two phase remodel project, the master suite & the kitchen! We couldn’t be happier with the outcome! Simply outstanding! From start to finish the PBD listened to learn of our lifestyle, design concept & material choices producing quality results that went above & beyond our expectations. The team graciously accepted change orders & worked to meet the project schedule. Every project has its caveats but being a patient homeowner & having a diligent PBD team we persevered, resulting in an outstanding beautiful home!

Working with ample space, a unique four-sided infinity pool, outdoor kitchen with full amenities, and pool house with custom spa were created. The outdoor space was tied into the original home with ipe pergolas mounted on stone columns, creating a resort-like view path from the entryway to the end of the pool deck through the…
- [Tomahawk Road Remodel](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/tomahawk-road-remodel-pj-vj~1554199)
  - Location: Prairie Village, KS
  - Photos: 8
  - Description: This project was so extensive, “remodel" seems like an understatement. A young couple purchased an old home that had lapsed out of maintenance. Before moving in, they wanted to transform it into something fit to raise a family. We started by removing the carpet, because it smelled like cats. Lots of cats. We then removed all the exterior siding, the sheathing, the sheetrock, and the flooring. All of it. We moved the front door, both staircases, and almost every interior wall. We kept the brick f…

  - Location: Overland Park, KS
  - Photos: 9
  - Description: As an avid cook, baker, and host, the homeowner’s primary concerns were open sightlines, freedom of movement, integrated appliances, and functionality of horizontal space. The carefully placed island, peninsula, and windows maximize natural light and roomy walkways. Tray ceilings, a suspended hood, and an open stairwell ensure cavernous cabinets and negative design space. Flush-mount, stainless steel appliances, dynamic granite countertops, and gray subway backsplash give a unified aesthetic wit…

  - Location: Overland Park, KS
  - Photos: 8
  - Description: Before this exterior remodel, the house was regarded as an eyesore among the neighbors, much in need of updating. The new homeowners fell in love with the layout of the mid-century modern home and brought a fresh look to the neighborhood. Exterior cladding was upgraded to cedar sheathing, horizontal fiber cement sheathing, and ledge cut dry stack stone, to create a unique modern look that neighbors have thanked the owners for. New sliding doors and expansion of the existing decks make this home…

  - Location: Leawood, KS
  - Photos: 7
  - Description: A Texas native, our client liked rustic wood transitional accents with traditional basics. With these design elements and her catering-style kitchen needs in mind, a beautiful working kitchen was created. Classic white subway tile, dark hardwoods, and stainless steel appliances combine classic, modern, and industrial elements. Honed granite island and countertops provide durable, ample work space, while giving an aged and casual look. Embracing the structural steel I-beam, exposed hand-distresse…

  - Description: A young family sought to open the floor plan of their newly purchased home. Finishes were outdated and traffic flow between the rooms was awkward. They desired an updated look and style to fit more in line with their tastes and needs. The entire main level of the home was taken down to the studs. Interior walls were moved to provide for an open space more suitable for the homeowners’ lifestyle. Spray foam insulation was installed inside the exterior walls and ceiling, as well as along the rim jo…

Thinking about placing tile as a backsplash in a refurbished kitchen.

A: It's a Terra Cotta tile from International Materials of Design. http://imdtile.com

**Q: What's the square footage of this?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I love the layout but I'm not sure if this would be too large for my property, so I'd love to know the square footage.

A: I'm guessing about 750 sf. We completed it several years ago and do not have the plans. I hope that helps.

**Q: recessed lights?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Love the cabinet hardware! Where could I get this? Or something similar?

A: Thanks! The client bought these online.
