> I am super picky, budget conscience and need to completely trust people that I am working with. After interviewing several big name local companies, I was underwhelmed and discouraged. None of them "had it all." One Saturday I attended a workshop at Case Design's offices in Bethesda. Running this event was Director of Project Development, Colleen Shaut. While she basically had me at hello on a personality basis, I knew I had to pay attention to make sure she was our woman for the job. I practically accosted her at the end of the presentations. There was no doubt in my mind that Colleen was the person and Case was the company for me and my family.

> Colleen has an incredible eye for space and design.  She is thorough in every step of the process - from measurements, to understanding clients' vision, to completion of every step of the project until the client is satisfied.

My favorite part of working with Colleen was her recommendations and her honesty.  We had a clear vision of where we wanted the kitchen, for example, but many of our specific and favorite details (e.g. cabinet color, stones, placement of drawers and cabinets) were ultimately a result of her ability to take what we wanted and improve it by making thoughtful and creative recommendations.  This really made all the difference in the world to our final result.  I'd recommend her to anyone (and have, actually!) -- especially someone who is open to honest opinions and new interpretations of their space that they might not have thought of! > We hired Case Design to remodel our kitchen in our SW condo in DC.  The kitchen was challengingly small and dark and had not been updated for at least a couple of decades and, in addition, we needed to get our kitchen completed fairly quickly as we are expecting a baby in the Fall. Case Design pulled together a great project team for us, led by Colleen Shaut and George Bergling. Everything from beginning to end was great – from the time we spent in the showroom picking cabinets and flooring to the execution of the project.  The design recommendations to provide more space and light in a small kitchen from Colleen and other staff were well thought out and right on target, from the type of cabinets we picked out, to the colors, to the type of floor and even the ceiling light fixture recommendations were great. Everything went on schedule and we were in close communication if there were any changes or issues.  During the execution phase of the project, the work was mostly performed by Chris Oldham and he was wonderful. He handled any issues that came up seamlessly and was able to make my last minute addition of a finished entranceway to the kitchen and complete items on my to do list with minimal changes to timelines.  The result is a kitchen that is just beautiful and one that is also highly functional – and it was completed on time with no hassles!  Also, just a quick note about Case’s pricing.  You get what you pay for and their work is by far the highest quality for the price.  I cannot wait to share it with family and friends!

A: The lights above the windows are the Boston Functional Arm lights from Visual Comfort.

A: This is a custom designed desk. We used Crystal Cabinetry's frameless Encore line of cabinetry in the "Tahoe" door style with a Designer White paint. The top is Silestone "Eternal Calacatta Gold".

A: The cabinet manufacturer is Crystal Cabinetry based out of Minnesota.
