> These are easily some of the most creative, easy to work with, and talented architects I know. I have had the pleasure of working with them on everything from small home details to big office space designs. They listen to what is needed and bring interesting ideas to the table. They always deliver on time and at a detail level that makes everyone's job easier. I have even had a cabinet shop reach out to thank them for being more detailed with better follow up then any architect they had ever worked with.

> We have enjoyed working with Daren and Lisa on our long awaited kitchen remodel in our 1936 home. They have a unique collaborative style. They asked insightful questions to determine our needs and took the time to understand what was important to us. We found them to be informative and respectful as we went through the process of narrowing down the possibilities and exploring the options. It was helpful to have their expertise and knowledge on a variety of materials, vendors and sources. They presented three different plans for us to choose from and were conscious of our budget and wishes. Their knowledge of functionality, structure and design made our project come together in a way that blended all of our needs perfectly. We will soon have our updated dream kitchen that fits seamlessly into our older, classic home. We would highly recommend chadbourne + doss architects.

**★★★★★ — Don Frank Photography, Dec. 2014**

> Lisa and Daren are able to visualize space that real people not only live and work in, but dream of. Their aesthetic is contemporary through their use of a variety of materials. Yet, there combination of the vintage with the needs of a modern world is truly captivating. I have and will continue to recommend them to potential clients that prefer to work with professionals that are easy to communicate with, will stand behind their work, and are masters of their craft.

> Chadbourne + Doss helped us make the most of our once-in-a-lifetime remodel. They took the time to get to know us, our needs and our aspirations. They were collaborative, inventive and challenged our preconceived notions. They guided us to wise decisions when facing the unavoidable tradeoffs that come with a major remodel. We have lived in the house for a few years now. We are still delighted to live in a space that exemplifies Lisa and Daren's extraordinary ability to work with form, light and space. And we'd hire them again in a heartbeat.

> chadbourne + doss were the architects for our house. A complete house on an existing foundation. We could not have asked for better partners. The level of detail and design knowledge was first rate during all steps of our project. We would not hesitate to work with chadbourne + doss on our next house project-the problem is that we could not imagine leaving the house they designed for us.

**★★★★★ — Martin Criminale, March 2014**

> How important is the architect in the "I'm going to build a house from scratch and I have never done this before" process? VERY. I would say it's the most important decision you will make.
>
> My wife and I interviewed five architects/firms before choosing chadbourne + doss and during the interview process AND the building of our house we were struck by several things that set chadbourne + doss apart.
> \- You get a team. It's almost like hiring two for the price of one.
> \- They don't always agree. Which is good! If chadbourne + doss work it out, odds are super high you and your partner won't need to rehash this very same issue. That was the case with us most of the time.
> \- Their attention to detail was incredible. Of course architects are supposed to listen but not all do. And not all actually take into account all that they hear. The design process started with an extensive survey that we each had to complete. Be honest - it will pay off in the end.
> \- In addition to aesthetic options we were also offered budget options to spend more AND to spend less. They really have the customer's best interest and budget at heart.
> \- At times during the construction process we needed an advocate and chadbourne + doss were exceptional in this role.
>
> I'm the kind of guy that begrudgingly spends money on any home improvement project (so many things to buy you did not think of!) or house purchasing endeavor (so many fees!) but I am happy with every dime we spent on chadbourne + doss.
>
> When you spend this much time working with people on a project that you are going to be intimately connected with for many years to come you want to have a good relationship with those people. My wife and I are extremely satisfied with the relationship with, the service from, the value of and the quality of chadbourne + doss.

**★★★★★ — marindac, March 2014**

> Great contemporary modern style. Very patient and organized. Good communication skill. We were demanding clients, but Lisa and Darren were able to satisfy our needs.

  - Description: This house is a reimagination and reconstruction of one of the iconic Seattle architect Fred Bassetti’s earliest designs. Fronting a busy street, the owners wanted to create a protective shelter for family life. While appreciating the classic modern structure, they wanted us to simplify the floor plan, rectify years of alterations, and update the finishes. In doing so, our goal was to respect the original spirit of the design while making the house reflective of its owners, its time, and a celeb…

  - Description: Like many older homes, this 4,800 square foot brick French Norman turned its back on a park-like half acre lot in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. Unlike its new owners, the existing house was formal, dark and introverted. With appreciation for the historic woodwork, craftsmanship and materials, our clients wanted to preserve history while transforming the home to connect indoor spaces directly to the expansive back yard. The concept of a “modern conservatory” influenced the design of an add…
