The results are outstanding and significantly exceeded our expectations which resulted from a lot of collaboration with Dan and his team on design and layout. We have a large kitchen and went back and forth on many details with the BC team and they were always accommodating, patient and detail oriented. I signed a contract for cabinet doors that was estimated to take 4-6 weeks and the project took more than 15 weeks weeks to complete. During my project, Dan did not communicate openly with me about our contracted work and never completed tasks on time. He refused to provide any visibility to a job timeline and when pressured to do so, responded that that was "not the way things work." Dan never reached out to me via phone call, except to close my business, and to request payment. **Comment from Best Cabinets:** > This situation was an unfortunate one of miscommunication. Our typical turnaround time per project is an estimated 4-6 weeks for custom building of cabinetry in our shop. We also advise our clients that the typical time for installation is approximately 1 week. We were exceptionally busy during this time, and a few days behind schedule. As such, we were able to get the majority of the work done within one week of the initially quoted timeline. After we completed installation for this client, requests were made for additional changes, adjustments and new detailed trim pieces that were not a part of the original order. A: Here is a custom kitchen recently completed in Chicago in a Small Bungalow. These are full inset cabinets made of Domestic 3/4" Prefinished UV Coated Plywood with Solid Maple Wood face frames and solid Maple drawers all handmade 5/8" thick with 1/2 inch bottoms.the drawer slides are the best available Full Extension Undermount Softclose by Blum. The hinges are guaranteed for life by the drawer slide manufacturer. The cabinets are all glued and screwed together offering high quality throughout. The hinges are full inset by Blum with Integrated Softclose build directly into the hinge. The Hinges are guaranteed for life by the hardware manufacturer. All high end finishes include Integrated full inset decorative end panels, Italian Lacquer Finish (non-yellowing). **Q: Kitchen needs help.** *(in Design Dilemma)* Dated... I am replacing the cabinet knobs but otherwise don't know where to go with this. Can't afford an entire renovation so needing to tweak it. Thinking the floors? Slate or hardwood. A: First of all you can get Gauged Slate and it is not busy. If you can't find a gauged slate then I would recommend a Porcelian tilefor the floor. Too much wood already in the kitchen, I would not recommend a wood floor.
