Edibella Landscape Design is the creation of Mary Clemons, a designer with 9 years of experience working with both residential and commercial clients. Mary helps landowners adapt the California style of landscaping into one that is appropriate to our Mediterranean climate, with the use of low-water and low-maintenance plant material. The name “Edibella” comes from Mary’s vision for incorporating food-producing trees into her designs, which bring beauty as well as sustainable food security to the garden space.
At Edibella, we maintain that design is a process, a series of decisions and steps carefully chosen to create a plan appropriate for any job, large or small. Our commitment is to listen to the needs and desires of each client and suggest elements for the landscaping that will meet those priorities. We utilize existing landscape characteristics that are worth emphasizing and minimize problem areas of the site.
We specialize in lawn reduction or total lawn removal, which frees up space to include the beauty of ornamental and edible plants and trees. The new landscape attracts beneficial birds and butterflies. Extra space from lawn reduction/removal also allows room for pathways and seating areas to entice you outdoors, to your own private garden. The space becomes an extension of your home that will add years of enjoyment for you, your family, and friends.

**★★★★★ — User, March 2021**

> Mary was full of great ideas and very knowledge about which plants would work in my backyard project! Although the work is yet to be completed, I have an excellent design in hand to follow as we renovate and replace our existing backyard deck and patio. Thank you. Mary!

**★★★★★ — Kathleen McCue, Feb. 2021**

> Mary designed out back yard and it turned out beautiful. She’s very easy to work with and has a wonderful eye for details!

**★★★★★ — Brad Hurvitz, Nov. 2019**

> We absolutely love our yard thanks to Mary!
>
> Mary listened carely to our goals and desires for our yard and had a remarkable memory for details a long time after our initial conversation. She created a beautiful mock-up design of the yard based on what we talked about. Creating several different spaces to be used for various functions while adding in trees and plants that would suit our low-maintenance needs. Her team was quick, precise and extremely friendly during the construction.
>
> We had a gathering (25 people) this past weekend and the yard was even more functional than we predicted while also receiving compliments from everybody there. I highly recommend Mary to everybody we know and will welcome her back to do our front yard in the near future!

**★★★★★ — Jonathan Choy, Sept. 2019**

> Mary did a couple of projects for neighbors in the area. The neighbors liked her work so I asked Mary to do my yard. My property presented many challenges because of its size and slopped. She and her crew did a fine job and the final outcome was very satisfactory. The crew under the direction of Fredi Macias was always on-time and worked hard even under difficult circumstances and conditions. Mary provided the guidance and selection of plants and there location in the yard. She was easy to work with and responds to my calls and questions within a reasonable time.

**★★★★★ — Matt Pace, Sept. 2018**

> I met Mary through a Property Manager referral where she had very positive reviews based on her ability to scale the project to the budget and to meet the schedule. After an initial call and a site visit, Mary quickly created a scope based on my objectives, referred a landscape installer and provided pricing. The project started on schedule, she was able to incorporate changes to the scope (I added retaining wall) along the way and provided a finished project just as she described. I would strongly recommend Mary and I look forward to working with her on future projects.

**★★★★★ — Wayne Strange, June 2018**

> We hired Mary Clemons to be our landscape designer, we could not have been happier. She came up with a great plan and Fredi who she uses to build it also did a great job. Both of them could not have been easier to work with. We would recommend both of them to anyone .

> I hired Edibella Landscape for two patio projects which were creatively designed to begin with and completed according to schedule. The first was for a small space patio that I wanted to be "green", cozy and private, though open on 2 sides. When I moved to another home, confronted with a neglected, overgrown "mess" called a patio, I immediately thought of Mary again. She worked wonders for me a second time! This patio was 2 1/2 times larger than the first. I am delighted with the outcome of both projects and love Mary's creativity and time management equally..

**★★★★★ — Sandy Troya, Dec. 2017**

> Mary did a wonderful job on the design and implementation of my re-landscape. I totally redid my yard and Mary worked with me from initial design through completion of the work. She didn't rush me and was happy to allow me to take the time I needed to end up with the best design, while thinking of all the peripheral items I wanted to include in the yard, like irrigation, lighting, capture of rain water, etc. She was always professional and worked with me to come up with a design that I would like and enjoy for years to come. She made great suggestions regarding conservation of water, while still ending up with a tropical feel to the yard. She knew what plants and trees to use that would have that kind of feel, but don't require a lot of water. Mary really knows her stuff, from design to plants. The entire time Mary kept my budget in mind and suggested ways to save. I highly recommend Mary!

**★★★★★ — Allison Diamond, June 2017**

> Mary really listened to what we wanted and presented us with several ideas that fit our needs. She was able to communicate with us things we needed to consider when doing a full landscape overhaul that we would not have otherwise known that made the end result more beautiful and flowed even better. The project stayed on schedule and she continues to follow up to see how the plants are doing and giving very helpful suggestions for maintenance. I am being very serious when I say that year after year the backyard looks better and better with the consistent compliments from acknowledging friends. Mary is a gift!

**★★★★★ — James Claypool, May 2017**

> Mary Clemons designed our back yard. She was quite willing to incorporate our ideas through the design and construction. Our goals were: 1. Low maintenance. 2.A pleasurable and relaxing view of the back yard from the house. 3.Space for entertaining. These goals were all achieved to our satisfaction.
>
> She was available to consult with the construction crew throughout the project, and has followed up to see how the plants were doing. She also offered advice on how to care for the plants.
>
> The fountain was strictly her idea, and has been a great focal point. Also her idea - night lighting. It was wonderful to look outside in the evening in the wintertime.
>
> Would hire her again. Would recommend her to friends.

**★★★★★ — Lynda Oldenburg, March 2017**

> Mary emphasizes customer service and is a true professional. She used our design ideas when it made sense and gave us alternatives when it didn't. She reviewed plant choices with us, re-used many of our plants as we requested, personally placed the plants, and updated us frequently. Mary stopped by on a regular basis to check on the progress of her landscape team. Her team was excellent-on time each day, thoughtful in terms of drainage and irrigation, and cleaned up everything well. She provided us with a plant list and itemized bill at the end. We are very happy with the final product as are our neighbors and passers-by. She has reduced our yard work considerably and we have a lovely yard. I recommend her without reservation. We will be working together on the backyard soon.

**Comment from Edibella Landscape Design:**

> Thank you Linda, it was a pleasure working with you and John on your project and I hope that your new landscape adds years of interest and beauty to your lovely new home!

**★★★★★ — Linda York, Jan. 2017**

> I own a B & B, so it is important that the grounds always look great. It had been seven years since the original landscaping was done and it needed some care. Mary's role was to upgrade the landscaping and use plants needing little care. My interaction with her was stellar! She was professional, well educated, very creative, responsible, always availalbe for discussion, and always on time for her appointments. Her work crew was top notch, hard working and easy to talk to - they were so good that they power washed the sidewalks as a finishing touch. Mary's selection of plants was on spot - she is truely creative using varigated plants to brighten up the garden. We are absolutely thrilled with the final result as well as the ease we had working together. We very highly recommend Mary and her crew for all your lanscaping needs.
