We knew right away that we wanted to hire Murfey Construction to help us with this project. Budget was a concern for us and they moved very quickly, yet carefully and efficiently (we were living in our rental house when we purchased our house so were anxious for the project to get done since we were paying rent and a mortgage). The permitting and planning took a couple of months and Murfey was not only very helpful to us during this process, they helped to expedite the process by recommending a great Designer/Draftsman who wrote up our plans and got them approved in a matter of weeks (Rick Rutstein, Professional Design and Drafting). We were set to start construction Feb. 1, 2014. Russ and his crew involved us in the whole process and were right on time. We 100% trusted them which was so nice and sometimes rare in this profession. They bid each job (electrical, plumbing, etc.), showed us every bid they got back (so we always were aware) and if they knew two companies were equally qualified, would give the job to the most cost effective. They consistently went out of their way to provide not only quality subcontractors, but cost effective ones. What would have possibly taken another construction company 6-12 months to complete, took Murfey construction only 4 months. We mainly worked with Russ Murfey who was always incredibly honest (even through the typical construction "kinks"), reliable, trustworthy and funny to boot! It was beyond a pleasure to work with him. Murfey makes a point of meeting at the house with their clients every single week to answer question, do walk throughs, talk about what's coming next, etc. (on top of always being available via phone call or email). Murfey construction was all of this to us. We are a small restaurant group (Promiscuous fork, inc.) that was looking for our second location and we were lucky to come across Russ and Scott Murfey. You can trust these guys. Local based builders that do a qualtiy job and are straight shooters. Costs are always a concern and they were sensative to the costs and quality as if it was their own. To my knowledge, they are standard 4x12's. Thanks. **Q: Is the tile same outside in covered patio as the inside?** *(in Photo Questions)* A: That's correct, it is the same flooring. It's all natural stone. **Q: What type of floor is this and where can I get it?** *(in Photo Questions)* A: The floor is a custom stone. This project was completed several years ago, so not sure where you would purchase it today. But, essentially, each stone was picked our individually, creating the interesting pattern you see in the photo. **Q: San Juan Capistrano Custom Masterpiece** *(in Photo Questions)* I am planning to tear the old house we have in Cerritos.
