For 20 years I had a sofa similar to the one that I purchased from them. I loved my old couch but this one came missing a lot of leather and it’s very visible so if you are going to spend a lot of money on leather especially online or where you get a leather sample, but you don’t really get to see what the couch will look like in the end, you need to make sure they show you the back of the cushions. If you have an open concept house, you will not be happy when friends and family can see Velcro and shortcuts that the company took on leather. And this was an $8000 couch! These ladies originally said they were going to come up with a fix, but then they changed their minds and walked away and we didn’t have bad words or anything. They just said that the manufacturer (Omnia) was not going to make it right and so I guess that means that Wellington’s won’t make it right. > > UPDATE: The owner contacted me and asked me to be patient for five months because she believes the filling in the cushions will settle and the velcro will become less noticeable. Found a FlexSteel style in stock and at good discount locally. That is not a full leather sofa but somr form of leather on front/touching parts and vinyl on back and sides I believe ( even though sales guy didn’t mention that). We can also order an American Leather brand sofa in all leather for more money. I would like this to be last sofa I buy. I don’t redecorate often. If we like it, we wont change our minds in 3 yrs. Will paying the extra money for better leather be worth it? I think the mechanics likely to be same—warranty is about equal on that. We have bought other leather furniture and the faux doesnt hold up but supposedly the FlexSteel leather is full leather—just on on entire sofa like the Am Leather brand. I love the look and function. I rest my feet when sitting on the couch wrapped in a blanket and it has rubbed the finish away…..how do I renew this? Is it possible to just address and blend the worn area or do I have to treat the whole piece, is there any company that custom mixes stains? Thank you!! A: It looks like you have a pure aniline leather. I also see by your picture that the end in question is getting hit with UV rays through your window. This is what a pure aniline leather will do with continued sun exposure. This leather is natural with little or no protection. You could contact Creative Colors International. They cater to the masses somewhere in the middle for their price points. They really excel in the reclining or motion offerings. Reclining sofas, leather recliners and sectionals with power options including articulating headrests. All the leathers they offer are top grain (first cut of the hide) cowhide. All better leather furniture manufacturers ONLY use top grain for upholstering. Finished leather is a leather that has a surface protection applied. Some also refer to it as aniline plus or protected leather. These will be your most protected leather finishes. Cleanable and good for high traffic areas. Aniline leather has a pure natural finish. Only transparent dyes have been applied and these leathers are susceptible to spills. Water spills can cause water rings. Oil spills like pizza or fried chicken will leave oil stains. These leathers are still durable they will simply offer a wear story. Much like a bomber jacket worn in the rain or a saddle for a horse. They are very durable they just change with use. I have had them for 5 years and they still look like new. The leather is just like the day they were delivered. We have sold Omnia for over a decade and find their customer service outstanding just as I mentioned before. Their cushion warranty is 3 years, and I can assure you they stand behind it.
