Right from inception on Day 1 to turning over the finished home 9 months later they were absolute consumate professionals. I have done lots of renovation projects on various heritage homes in Toronto over the years and they are by far the best company that I've engaged. They understand the unique requirements and challenges of working with older homes in the downtown core . The quality of the work completed by all the trades was truly outstanding. They were excellent with clear and timely communication which is an area lacking with many other contractors out there. On top of that they were just the greatest group of guys to interact with, which when going thru an extensive renovation project of this scope is quite integral to contributing to a happy and successful outcome. I caught them doubling the agreed to mark up on kitchen cabinets. They said they could charge me whatever they wanted to becuase that is their right as a business. I told them I had proof and they didn't believe me until I showed them an invoice from their "preferred suppliers". After they knew they were caught they agreed to give me back $8k of my $12k deposit. They gave me an invoice for what they said I owed them and I agreed to pay it. Now they won't return my calls, emails and have blocked me from sending them texts and have kept all of my money. I recommend them to anyone undertaking a big and complex home renovation. HomeGuru helped do a complete main and upper floor renovation including adding a powder room and a completely new kitchen. One of the most important things, obviously, on our contractor search was finding people we could trust with our home and money, and Aaron and Justin won us over immediately and did not disappoint during our 7 months of renovations. At no point during the ups and downs of a massive home reno was I worried about these guys disappearing or doing something wrong. Their payment schedule was honest, transparent and fair, which was super important for us. That being said the vast majority of the overages were discussed with us beforehand and were reasonable. There are many styles now...we can get quartz to look like marble.
