Stephen, Samantha and Kyle, their entire team, take great pride in their work and provide clear and fair pricing. They always make time to answer questions. When we first moved in we realized our retaining wall and front steps were falling apart. Stephen and team did an amazing job rebuilding both areas. After this years heavy snows, our already suffering landscaping took the final blow. The team put together ideas and estimates but most importantly they met a near impossible deadline. They have been shown an array of knowledge when it comes to how or when to prune certain plants and also what plant material will do better in different conditions (i.e. shade vs. sun). My grass has become very healthy and green with help from their lawn applications and their irrigation division to adjust the run times based on weather conditions. Since Sharper Cut is a highly rated company, I trusted their recommendation. Unfortunately, I must say that I am extremely dissatisfied with the quality of Garner Exteriors’ completed project and their unsatisfactory level of customer service. > > I was in the process of moving into the home, which had been vacant for over a year. When I purchased the house, the yard was overrun with weeds and in desperate need of pruning, mulching, trimming and edging throughout. I met with Jon. He seemed to be very creative and professional. He even sold me on adding in some retaining walls (I love the retaining walls). > Issues: > > After Garner Exteriors completed the work they just left. They did not even have the courtesy to speak with me before departing the property. Due to the disheveled state of the yard, my wife and I were shocked to see that they left. We walked around and look at the disorderly and unfinished work. Although it was a bright, sunny, calm day when they came out to our house, we found leaves everywhere including embedded in the mulch around the trees and flower beds; blue spray paint was on tree roots and grass; broken branches and uneven bushes were left; there were even areas that had not been mulched and the edging lines were not strait. Their completed work was sub-par and far below my expectations of a professional landscaping company. > > To make matters worse, I emailed Garner Exteriors to express my concerns (I spoke with Jon) and sent copies of pictures that we took that same afternoon of the yard. He immediately followed up with me via phone and said that he would come out and take a look. As he walked our property he was very reluctant to admit that the work was subpar, and he did not address any of my concerns. Instead, he stated that he picked up a few branches! No one ever came out to redo the landscaping properly, and I did not receive any form of reimbursement for the inconvenience. > > In closing, I would not recommend Garner Exteriors to any homeowners seeking high quality landscaping for their property. I agreed and provided my availability. I accepted this meeting under the impression that the owner wanted to try and help resolve my negative experience. So, today the owner and Jon came to my property and to my shock and amazement the owner was extremely confrontational and insisted that I was wrong about the work. He even attempted to chastise me and told me that I was wrong for posting my negative experiences with the quality of their customer service and workmanship. I have no reason to lie, and I even took pictures to prove the poor level of work that was done. I would have never agreed to meet with the owner had I known that the meeting was for the owner of Garner Exteriors to just accuse me of being a liar. I also would have never agreed to meet to be exposed to a confrontational, unproductive and overall negative experience with the owner. From the day I told them that I was not happy with the quality of their work they never once apologized, and they never made any attempts to fix the issues. Instead they have continued to challenge me, ignored proof of their poor workmanship, and refused to admit to any poor work. > > As I stated in my prior review, I would not recommend Garner Exteriors to any homeowners seeking high quality landscaping for their property.
