So we started by conducting phone interviews with ~15 residential architects, and then invited six in for interviews. After meeting David Lund, the decision was a no brainer. There are obviously many talented architects; however, we were particularly impressed with David's range of design capabilities (nothing about his portfolio felt cookie cutter, everything was tailored to the house and family that occupied it) as well as his communication style and demeanor (he was organized, intentional and thoughtful, never frazzled or stressed). We have our own style and had our own ideas for the project, but we also wanted an architect who could complement us and introduce new ideas – to work in tandem, as a team. > > And David delivered. They look very different but they perform similarly, as they are both intended to be used on the floor. The slate is not slippery given its great amount of texture but it can make it difficult to set things on as it might be a little uneven. The tile you’re talking about most likely is of a consistent thickness which makes installation simpler.
