In 1988, Cailin began practicing as a draftsman with her focus on kitchen and bath design. For the next 14 years, she honed her design skills and wore hats ranging from cabinetry sales to project coordinator to showroom manager for Thelen Design-Build, a residential remodeling company. In 2002, she took a break to start a family and a year later, began practicing as a freelance residential kitchen and bath designer, founding Thelen Designs, LLC, which she continues today.
