**Q: POLL:  Double or Single Front Door?** *(in Polls)*

Your front door is so important in setting the mood for your entire decor.  Do you have a single or double front door on your home?

A: We have sold and installed thousands of custom entry doors and we have learned that entry doors are definitely a personal preference item when it comes to styling. However, the single / double door conflict may be decided by balancing proportions of the front elevation of the home. If you have a wide home, consider a single door with sidelights, or double doors so the entry is more noticeable in comparison to the mass of the front elevation. Similarly, consider a single door for a narrower front elevation. In Florida, we have primary egress codes that require a 32" clear opening for at least 1 door leading to the main living area (only 1 leaf of the double door is recognized for opening size). This egress door is "usually" the entry door which may preclude the use of a narrow double door. Plenty to think about when choosing the entry door.
My personal favorite choice is the versatility of the double door.
