> My wife and I hired Carmel Building & Design as our General Contractors and built our home from 3000 miles away. Rob and Matt exceeded our expectations both in the way in which they worked with us to plan the home and build the home we wanted, but also a product that was built artfully. Now some 3 years later, we are 100% pleased with the process and the results and would not change a single thing. Our certified Passive Home and also Leed Platinum home was built taking into consideration that how one can build a responsible home with very little negative effects on our environment and still look fantastic. We would recommend Carmel Building & Design without hesitation, and if we didn't love our home so much, would do this all over again.

## Community Q&A

**Q: love the glass sliding doors** *(in Photo Questions)*

What brand of sliding doors are these? It looks like they open to both the left and right over the other panel. How do they lock in the middle?

A: Thanks for your inquiry Mary. The sliding door is an Andersen E-Series, four panel door. Here's a link to more info. www.andersenwindows.com/windows-and-doors/doors/sliding-patio-doors/e-series-gliding-patio-door/\#size

**Q: About the black farm sink** *(in Photo Questions)*

Can you tell me who makes the gorgeous black farm sink?
Do you like it and is it a matte or gloss finish?

A: I apologize that it's taken so long to reply to your question. The Black Granite sink is from Stone Forest but is a discontinued item. Hope this helps.

Thank you for contacting us.

**Q: Where is the dining set from?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Thank you for your question. We are not involved in furniture selection. I can ask the client if you'd like.

**Q: Beams: what type of wood and finish?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: The beams are re-sawn Douglas fir. The finish is a low-sheen water-based clear coat, custom-tinted onsite with the same white paint used for the walls. It was sprayed and then "back-brushed" to work it into the rough surface.

**Q: what type of wood is used on this island?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: The wood is white oak. Thank you again for your interest.

**Q: Paint color** *(in Photo Questions)*

What is the brand and color of the paint please? Also what is the finish of the paint?

A: Thanks for your question. I'll have a response for you soon.
