We walked the lot and he seemed to know what he was talking about and answered most questions we had. We decided to go with GJ to build our custom dream home. We were first told it would take 6 to 9 months after permits were pulled. We were told house would be finished the end of July And we were introduced to Bret the project manager. Was told he had 35 years experience and he had built multi million dollar houses. Bret lacked attention to detail, flat out lied constantly & was the worst communicator. Due to failures in their process GJ failed to give us exactly what we wanted. Many short cuts were taken and they fought us the whole way. We finally got the keys a year later and they still have several items to complete before house is 100 percent. **★★★★★ — Darren Hill, July 2020** > Our house project started with a drawing of the house I wanted and they turned it into reality. It was surreal stepping into the house I sketched the previous year and seeing it just as I had imagined it. There were no major issues to take care of when we did our final walkthrough and they were very quick about fixing any of the minor issues we picked out. Other companies we approached for our custom project were all cost plus builders and started out at much higher rates than G.J. Gardner. We also looked into a few other fixed cost builders for the project but they were either not willing to do a custom home or did not seem to have an understanding for the mountain home design we were trying to achieve.
