I found the price range acceptable and entered a pre-build contract with BGR. Initially they were great to work with. Straight-forward, upfront, accessible, etc. After an enjoyable and productive design phase, that is where all their credibility as a company ended. Their first quote/bid to build the pre-discussed home was 115-140K (33-47%) higher than the agreed upon price range for the project. Seeing my dismay and me being upset they scrambled and tried 2 more times to bring the price within the range by stripping all but the extreme basics of housebuliding but still were well above the agreed upon build estimate range. They knew I was unhappy having already paid them a substantial amount of money for the pre-build. The owner then got involved and admitted that they had made mistakes in their process and tried to make it right. Despite that, they gave me more bids for an extremely stripped down design that never made it into their initial pre-build price range quote. I decided to not go forward with the build with this untrustworthy company. I kindly asked to be reimbursed just a portion of my pre-build costs that I felt I was due because of their deceptive bait and switch style practices but they sent me a very generic email saying they have fulfilled all heir obligations and cut of communication with me. I have been in the remodeling business and have done countless projects and have built several homes with other contractors and I have never seen a more deceptive and dishonest company. Even their bids were riddled with missing information and blatant discrepancies. I hope this review saves you the time and money that I lost by trusting in this company.
