Initially, Larry and Sue Steffen spent hours analyzing every detail of our architectural plans and made many excellent suggestions we incorporated into the project. Even though we were in Texas, communication before and during the building process was timely and effective. As a professional decorator, Sue has a great eye and guided our choices keeping our aesthetic vision in mind. Our building supervisor, Geoff Jurgenson, was a constant support; quality materials and craft are evident in every detail. Any concerns are addressed and corrected during and after build out, they will back up their projects. My wife and I had never built a home before and we had heard all the horror stories about what could go wrong, so we were a little nervous as construction began.  The end result, however, was great.  Larry, Sue and Tyler were wonderful throughout the process.  They had great suggestion and were very helpful in resolving the inevitable issues that arise with any construction project.  In the end, the quality of construction was wonderful, the home was beautiful and it was completed on time and on budget.  We couldn't be happier and we would highly recommend Steffen Builders West to anyone considering building a home in Grand County.

> We have been in our new mountain house for 6 months now and we would absolutely use Steffen Builders again but unfortunately we love the finished product so much I'm not sure we will ever have a need. The key fact that sticks out to us is that 90% of the project went extremely smooth and they promptly took care of the mere 10% that didn't without any debate, blame, or finger pointing.  At every step of the way they paid extreme attention to detail and consulted with us anytime they weren't 100% clear on exactly what we wanted so there were minimal do overs.  The pricing and billing was extremely transparent and I'm an engineer who wants to see and understand everything.  And finally, they have been extremely responsive since we have moved in resolving any issues and luckily there haven't been many.  Overall, the process was smoother than I expected and that is definitely not the norm I've heard from others who have gone through the construction of any house, let alone their dream house.
